Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Design tread proposals that are attractive, functional and that meet market requirements
2. Design sidewall proposals that are attractive, functional and that meet market requirements
3. Demonstrate proficient modeling skills in Pro/Engineer.
4. Create new logos and letter styles
5. Create tire renderings of prototype tread and sidewall designs using engineering and other modeling applications
6. Coordinate the fabrication of 3-dimensional, physical models of prototype tread and sidewall designs, i.e. hand-cut tires and modeling machines

Required Education and/or Experience
1. College Diploma (2-3 year) or University Degree (4-year) in Engineering, Mathematics, Technology, Science, Design or Art - required
2. Minimum of 3-years of relevant experience in tire design or in related industry - required
3. Functional knowledge of tire mold design or tire engineering or manufacturing processes - preferred

Required Skills & Abilities
1. Multi-lingual: English & Mandarin with sound skills in reading, writing & speaking English
2. Good communication and technical documentation skills.
3. Proficiency with design of experiment methods with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
4. Functional understanding of quality systems and concepts
5. Must be detail oriented, self-starting, and must be able to complete projects with minimal supervision.
6. Proficiency with standard PC applications including: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access and Visio.
7. Must be technically competent with Pro/Engineer and other modeling applications.

Reporting Relationships
1. The Tire Designer reports directly to the Director of the Tire Applications Development Group (CTR - Asia Pacific).
2. The Tire Designer is the primary liaison between the Product Design Group; CTR- US, CTR- Europe and CTR- Asia Pacific.
3. The Tire Designer is the primary liaison between the Tire Applications Development Group (CTR - Asia Pacific) and the Asia-Pacific Production Facilities.

Working Conditions
1. Primary work location will be based out of the Asian Technical Center, located in Shanghai, China.
2. This work is performed in an office environment, but will require working in production, laboratory, and warehouse facilities.
3. Travel is necessary and should be expected, including overnight stays.
