Essential Duties & Responsibilities
? Research and develop new PCR rubber compound formulae, methods and/or processes that can improve the performance, cost and/or quality of our tires.
? Work with production plants to develop, specify and facilitate implementation of PCR rubber compounds to meet requirements of product performance, production, and most importantly the requirements of our customers.
? Support on-going material applications activities by evaluating new materials in both the laboratory and production environments.
? Evaluate and approve new raw materials used on tire rubber compound formulae.
? Track the performance of existing suppliers and monitor the quality, consistency and process capability of the raw materials used in tire compound formulae.
? Coordinate with external suppliers, universities and other outside entities in the identification, research and development of new materials for PCR tire applications.
? Participate, advise or lead as needed on product development, process improvement and problem solving teams that are by nature global and multi-disciplinary.
? Initiate, analyze and summarize laboratory development studies on PCR rubber compound formulae. Document investigations and plant trials in the form of detailed technical reports, presentations and management updates.

Required Education and/or Experience
? College Diploma (2-3 year) or University Degree (4-year) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or related - required
? Minimum of 3 - years of experience as a PCR tire rubber compounder - required
? Functional knowledge of PCR tire engineering and/or manufacturing processes - preferred

Required Skills & Abilities
? Multi-lingual: English & Mandarin with sound skills in reading, writing & speaking English
? Good communication and technical documentation skills.
? Proficiency with design of experiment methods with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
? Functional understanding of quality systems and concepts
? Must be detail oriented, self-starting, and must be able to complete projects with minimal supervision.
? Proficiency with standard PC applications including: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel.

Reporting Relationships
? The PCR Rubber Compounder reports directly to the Director of the Materials Applications Development Group (CTR-Asia Pacific).
? The PCR Rubber Compounder is the primary liaison between the Materials Applications Development Group (CTR-US) and CTR-Asia Pacific.
? The PCR Rubber Compounder is the primary liaison between the Materials Applications Development Group (CTR-Asia Pacific) and the CCT TBR Production Facility.

Working Conditions
? Work will be based out of the Asia Technical Center in Shanghai, China.
? This work is performed in an office environment, but will require working in production, laboratory, and warehouse facilities.
? Travel will be required, including overnight stays.
