6. Major Responsibilities
Product & range
? Define product offer & strategic planning for the product group.
? Define product positioning within the context of TRW, a market leading Original Equipment player.
? Create innovation and product initiatives to underwrite the TRW proposition
? Define product policies for range.
? Establish market share objectives for the product group.
? Regular review of range with the Product Manager including gap analysis against vehicle parc and competitor comparisons.
Sourcing
? Define sourcing strategy for each product group
? Sourcing studies to maintain best in class sourcing at world class cost prices
? Supplier acquisition
? Sourcing decision making
? Annual planning of volumes
? Long term capacity securing with supplier
Price
? Define Asian price positioning. Liaise with channel marketing to implement.
? Monitor and analyse TRW price positioning against the competition.
? Find ways to improve pricing
? Introduce market price and brand segmentation strategies
? Implement a programme of cost down initiatives
Communication
? Create sales argumentation and product differentials.
? Operational Liaison with ABUs
? Feedback market requirements, and modify product offering as appropriate.
Plan
? Develop stocking strategies to optimise availability together with operations
? Consolidate and validate Asian forecasts.
? Develop product marketing plan, including sales, Gross Margin, volume, market size and share.
? Define product project plans, ownership and ensure on time delivery. Co-ordinate Asian launches.
? Create product Business Plan in line with company planning requirements.
? Competitor analysis on an ongoing basis.
? Monitor the market and react or make reaction proposals accordingly to improve profitability.
Financials
? Monthly monitoring of key financial metrics and co-ordinate actions between departments where recovery needed or opportunities are presented.
? Responsibility for Product Line Sales, Gross Margin, Market Share, Availability & MPBT in AP against OP and optimise.
7. Key Competencies
? University degree or something similar
? Fluently English
? 5-10 years experience in Commercial environment
? Product knowledge
? Knowledge of the automotive aftermarket business
? Wide experience or temporary employment abroad
