Day to Day Responsibilities:

- Develops SME knowledge of material, process and/or equipment in focused areas of manufacture or engineering.
- Problem solving and process improvement using structured problem solving methods such as KT, Designed Experimentation, or Six Sigma.
- Coordinates installation, debugging and initial operation of new equipment and systems.
- Provides disciplined project leadership across multiple stages of innovation for new product, process, cost reduction and capacity improvement initiatives.
- Manage project resources to achieve project deliverables and timeline
- Document and track activities, scope changes and lessons learned
- Provides direction to other technicians and coaches junior engineers
- Work with research & development teams for new processes and product development and introductions




Education & Experience

- MS/BS Degree in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Applied Chemistry etc.
- Prefer to have 3 years work experience for Bachelor Degree and minimum one year for Master Degree
- Master degree in engineering with strong Analytical statistics can also be considered



Required Skills

- Experience with contact angle, adsorption and desorption methods
- Good knowledge of fundamental chemical principles and mechanisms
- Knowledge and practice in surface and interfacial chemistry
- Ability to collaborate on projects with other team members
- Broad manufacturing and engineering experiences in surface and coating technology such as CVD, PVD and spray coating etc.


Desired Skills

- Experience in working with glass and ceramic
- Team facilitation skills when leading efforts with colleagues of various disciplines
- Good oral English and listening ability
- Exposure to contract manufacturing
- Knowledge of process control/process discipline, SPC, DOE and Statistics methods

Travel Requirements: (National/International; 0-100%)
50-75% including international travel if based in Shanghai
