Key Responsibilities
- Escalation point of contact for any problems arising from daily operational activities. Work with the appropriate parties to resolve without further escalation.
- Manage and train people in your group. Work with customers to ensure adherence to the defined processes.
- Ongoing review and maintenance of SOP’s and Process Flows.
- Support integration activities for acquisitions including participation on integration teams, assessment of mass data uploads, tools and approach for deployment. Identify timelines and related milestones for integration activities, etc.
- Maintain Corning corporate master data in defined systems to include: Vendor, Customer, Accounts, Department, Business Units, Product Code, Projects, Items, System Access and associated hierarchies.
- Support internal and external audits for consistency, ensuring process, policies and procedures are being adhered to at all times.
- Work with all levels of the organization to complete work.
- Validate and enter data as defined by set policies and procedures.
- Prepare and sort source documents, identify and interpret data to be entered.
- Contact originators or approvers of source documents to resolve questions, inconsistencies, or missing data.
- Detect data discrepancies and make necessary corrections to information entered.
- Compile, sort, and verify accuracy of data to be entered.
- Keep record of work completed and customer communications.
- Will be required to interact with multiple users for obtaining sign-offs on data.
- Prepare regular and special periodic reports.
- Participate on projects when need arises.
- Audit data for consistency and adherence to policy.
Background and Experience
- 2 years + applicable experience working with Master Data and /or transaction processing, ideally in a shared services environment.
- Cross-Cultural Sensitivity. Ideally worked in a global or regional team.
- A general understanding of financial applications and Master Data Management and the flow of information through an organization is critical.
- Accuracy and quality of data entry is essential. Errors can be costly and have a high impact
- Attention to detail and process orientated.
- Strong knowledge of desktop applications (MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
- Commitment to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, understands and is process orientated.
- Capable of working independently and to take ownership of assigned areas of responsibility.
- Able to work at a fast pace and does not get flustered when under pressure.
- Controls and audit experience is desired.
