Accountability
The Merchandiser, Beauty is accountable to:
? Cooperate with the relevant teams to secure product development and manage price negotiation in order to reach the best deal in price, quality and lead time
? Manage order processing and monitor production to ensure smooth and timely supply of merchandise
? Secure and follow up on suppliers’ capacity in order to ensure smooth and on-time delivery
? Secure effective communication with the suppliers
Main Responsibilities
? Work as a team together with the Product developer to secure the development and quotation process; cooperate over the choice of supplier
? Analyze the quotation from the Buying Office and make sure that everything is clear, and if not, go back to the Buying Office and ask for clarifications
? Suggest alternatives and work proactively in order to reach the best price, quality and lead time; work together with the Product Developer and Quality team
? Support the Product Developer when sending the development and quotation to the most suitable suppliers according to the capacity strategy set by the Product Manager (PM)
? Use a price history list, planned production units and capacity plan as tools when distributing quotations to H&M’s suppliers
? Secure the right sample selection based on the best product and send the best package to the buyer
? Give feedback to suppliers regarding price, sample and possible requests for improvements
? Follow up deadlines for developments, quotations and samples as per the preorder method
? If an order is confirmed, check that all the details are correct and correspond to what has been agreed and sent out to the supplier
? In a case where there are Production Merchandisers, transfer all information, order, approved formula & packaging/label spec sheets
? Follow up the order by using OFS/OFU systems and use deadlines as a help to keep track of order status; make sure that Time of Delivery (TOD) is on time - applicable when there is no Production Merchandiser support
? Work actively with the samples together with the Product Developer and Chemist/QA
? Keep the Senior Merchandiser/Product Manager updated on the general order situation
? In order to be able to take full responsibility for order follow up it is a must to have close cooperation with the other teams such as Product Developer, Quality teams and Sourcing / Capacity responsible
? Conduct risk assessment together with the Chemist in the pre-order stage
? Share knowledge and problems with the rest of the teams to improve and learn from our mistakes
? Create a good dialogue with buyers in the Buying Office
? Send clear and accurate information to the Buying Office at an early stage for clear understanding
? Have good knowledge of H&M’s suppliers concerning price, quality, capacity and lead time

? Keep track of suppliers’ production plan to ensure on-time delivery
Education and Experience requirements
? Professional education in Purchasing, Merchandising or a related Business Administration discipline
? Comprehensive understanding of cosmetics trends
? Knowledge of Merchandising process preferably in cosmetics, beauty products or a related field
