1. Master Job Profile – SAP BI specialist


a. Introduction

Festo’s new BI environment is based on up-to-date technology SAP BW (Rel. 7), including SAP’s Business Objects suite (Rel. XI 3.1).
In addition, operational data is made available to end users via SAP’s Logistic Information System (LIS) as an operational data warehouse with SAP Business Object as the main reporting tool for this data.
Additionally we provide a Festo developed Management Cockpit to the worldwide users for the monitoring of the Balanced Scorecard perspectives.

b. Summary of job contents

The Business Intelligence Specialist is the regional member of Festo’s global BI Service Delivery Team. His/her role is to roll out global BI solutions to end users and to ensure high levels of BI availability through support functions and in-depth testing.
Key activities include all phases of the systems development life cycle with the existing BI tools; resolution of issues with existing systems; and providing technical guidance to other team members as well as part project management of different BI initiatives. You should also contribute with your knowledge to build up a global data warehouse and a sustainable BI strategy together with the global BI team following the centrally defined BI standards and make sure that these standards are implemented also in the different Asian countries.
International travel to different countries in Asia and HQ in Germany may be required.

1. High quality and on time delivery of solutions during the different BI projects
2. Meet and monitor the expected deadlines for the various defined BI “house keeping” processes
3. Meet service level agreements with the BI user community
4. High quality and on time delivery of reports in the SAP BI environment
5. Contribution to build up and further develop the Festo global data warehouse
6. Willingness and flexibility to learn new tools and incorporate them the best way into the existing environment
7. High customer orientation towards our BI user community
8. Active communication with team leader and active know-how exchange with the global acting BI team



d. Core Dimensions


1. Working knowledge of the SAP BI data warehouse system containing BW, BEx (Query Designer, Web Application Designer)
2. Working knowledge of best practice for the implementation of data warehouse systems
3. Practical experience of sales and finance processes with SAP ECC are usefull
4. Practical experience in Web Development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) usefull for BI web applications
5. Experience and knowledge of SAP portal technology
6. Exceptional technical and functional analytical skills
7. Experience in BI projects, following BI project management methodologies and sharing knowledge to create solutions in a global team
8. Experience in systems analysis, i.e. understanding user requirements and implementing systems to meet the requirements

Education University degree in Computer Science, or related area
