We are currently looking for an experienced Raw Material Technologist to manage the R&D aspects of fabric/ trim development, to manage fabric/elastic bulks performance controls for one of our leading Australian underwear brands.

Help to build up material sourcing capabilities to provide market information to support business’ on costing, new products and capability

Job Description:

Work closely with R&D team from different underwear category/brand to ensure appropriate raw material developments/ allocation whilst maintaining design intent and margin consideration

Sustain effective communication channels with internal/ external business partners to resolve issues that is related to raw material

Coordinate with material suppliers to improve quality, lead time and cost through continuous improvement actions

Actively engage and work with strategic suppliers and drive corporate objectives with raw material suppliers and to make a progressive plan in manufacturing lean process

Establish and maintain a fabric, trim and embellishment reference library

Requirements:

Degree/Diploma in Textile technology/Textile Chemistry or related disciplines.

Experience of working closely with factories/ mills.

High level of technical skills with knowledge of yarn spinning, knitting, dyeing and finishing. Thorough understanding of fabrics and elastics production quality standards

A minimum of 5 years experiences in a similar position.

Preferably with experience working in buying office / trading background

Mature thinking, energetic, analytical, attention to details, well organized.

Good command of both written and spoken English

Strong proficiency in MS Windows based software (Excel, Word, Access, Powerpoint)
