职位描述
Specific Responsibilities:
l Participate and advise in all part design reviews with ME and ID, given tooling/production recommendations and Participate in tolerance analysis and tolerance studies.
l Provided tooling concepts to ME & ID included parting line, ejector pins position, gate position for evaluation.
l Calculate cycle times and yield rates for all processes to determine manufacturing capacity.
l Estimate and generate prototype & production tooling and piece part cost, estimated tooling schedule
l Search and identify new materials, manufacturing technologies and finish options.
l Select appropriate suppliers for the tooling and assembly.
l Write all RFQs of prototype & production – includes plastic, metal, rubber.
l Review and approve all DFM for manufacturing from supplier.
l Approve all tooling design assist with MoldFlow analysis, especially in gate position, cooling system, vents.
l Track prototype & production tooling build process weekly.
l On-site monitor all tooling sample trials and issues resolve immediately. Optimize injection parameters to ensure part cosmetic can meet MS requirements.
l Manage all tooling modifications and approval all cavity final parts.
l Approve FAI report and PPAP in final for the tooling qualification.
l Verify and solid parts cross build, manufacturing processes.
l Review and approve tooling maintenance procedures.
l Manage and develop suppliers’ capabilities.
l Assist postproduction quality/ cost improvement activity related to fixtures and processes
l Continues technical sustaining in mass production.
Education and Experience Requirements:
l BS ME or MSME/MSIE preferred.
l Minimum of 9 years related work experience in tooling design, fabrication and qualification required in high volume consumer electronic products. Experienced smart band or smart watch is a plus.
l Good problem solving skills especially in relation to trouble shooting over molding.
l Strong knowledge of a variety of tooling processes and molding, including new technology of the tooling and injection molding, new plastic material.
l A good understanding of and experience with plastic finishing, decorating, ultrasonic welding and other secondary operations is a plus.
l Clear tooling design requirements and can review and approve tooling design.
l Familiar with ProE, UG, Solidwork and AutoCAD experience must.
l Hands on experience in a fast paced and high quality manufacturing environment with a good working understanding of high volume manufacturing process is preferred.
l Experience working with cross-functional teams managing multiple projects concurrently.
l Strong planning, scheduling, and presentation skills.
l Ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written).
l Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, a good team player.
l Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint experience a must.
