PURPOSE目的

This role is a combination of material engineer and purchasing engineer. One main task is supplier management and part sourcing. The other is purchasing parts for Lab Prototype /Production Prototype and helping Contract Manufacturer on purchasing channel set-up.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES主要工作职责

Materials Engineering:

• Selects, manages and develops responsive and cost competitive suppliers for product design.

• Ensures the on-time delivery of materials and samples from suppliers for Lab prototyping.

• Works with design engineers to qualify sourced parts/assemblies.

• Provides leader role to identify and resolve material/assembly issues that impact time-to-market, cost, quality, and reliability in product development.

• Interfaces with suppliers for technical and quality problems during the product design and negotiates cost, technical, quality, environmental terms and conditions with suppliers.

• Participates in new product transfers from design to manufacturing and supports production procurement to solve the supplier related issues as required.

Purchasing:

• Schedule and procure parts/materials/assemblies for Lab Prototype at lowest cost & highest quality in the timely manner from approved vendors.

• Resolve non-technical issues associated with purchasing of parts/materials/ assemblies/products.

• Assist manufacturing procurement on purchasing materials for Production Prototype and help Contract Manufacturer on purchasing channel set-up.

Competency and Skills 能力和技能:

• Academic/Professional Qualification: Minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering or Mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering or related discipline.

• At least 3 years experience in sourcing and supplier selection/management for related commodities of electronic devices.

• Strong knowledge in multiply commodities of materials, familiar with PCB/PCA technologies, and manufacturing process; knowledge of supply chain; strong communication skills and good negotiation skills; proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese; strong ability to interface effectively with various functional areas as well as suppliers.

• Strong initiatives and sense of responsibility. Able to work both independently and with teammate fulfilling assignment effectively. Able to manage time, priorities, and multi-tasks to meet timeline.
