The Improvement Technician assists the local improvement team in executing the plant level improvement process by generating and analyzing lab and plant data, supporting improvement opportunities, and implementing improvement projects.

The Improvement Technician works with the local improvement engineers, improvement technologists, and production teams to improve productivity, increase quality, reduce waste, introduce new products and processes, and support EHS and process safety projects. The Improvement Technician performs and coordinates lab experiments and trials and follows global work process (ex. Management of Change, Root Cause Analysis, Six Sigma, etc.).

Primary Responsibilities
*Assisting the local improvement team in identifying key measures using plant performance data analysis
*Partnering with plant operation personnel to secure process data for identification of technology gaps, improvement opportunities, and project definitions
* Updating key plant and tech center people on daily progress of key lab and plant trials and lab development work.
*Helping improvement team and plant to identify plant improvements that are aligned to the Plant Specific Technology Plan objectives
*Validating improvement opportunities using lab experimentation and by supporting plant trials.
*Assisting the local Improvement team in collection and analysis of improvement project data
*Implements lab trials to provide scale up data for new product transfers
*Providing data to validate that projects deliver performance objectives after implementation
*Assist in documenting reports on new product trial, troubleshooting and improvement.
*Operates lab work in full compliance with local and site EHS requirements and maintains lab facilities in clean and efficient working order

Requirements
* BS in Chemistry or equivalent
* Experience in manufacturing, R&D, or process development is a plus
* Good communication, interpersonal and team working skills.
* Must work safely in lab and maintain excellent housekeeping
* CET 6

* Reports to Local Improvement Leader or to an experienced Improvement Engineer
