Accountability
The Sustainability /Environmental Specialist is accountable to:
? Provide technical knowledge and support on environmental agenda
? Building competence in environmental aspects for both suppliers and internal teams
?
? Collaborate with internal or external stakeholders on environmental activities, identify good practice and solutions, and share them to internal team and suppliers
Main Responsibilities
DEVELOP SUPPLY CHAIN PARTNERS ON SUSTAINABILITY
? Support to Analyze the potential chemical/ environmental safety or quality problems in factory production process.
? Conduct assessments of competence and provide technical support to suppliers in chemical/environmental areas
? Provide technical advice and expert knowledge for internal teams on chemical/ environmental issues
? Carry out the chemical/ environmental trainings, educations and workshops decided in the Annual Action Plan


SECURE H&M STANDARDS
? Provide analytical and rational recommendation on different dimensions (self-reporting, validation, risk factors, supplier type, trends, patterns) to establish effective dialogue and advice on remediation to supplier management.
? Suggest creative, practical solutions to challenges to secure sustainable supply chain
? Support to Maintain up to date information on the database and systems

COMMUNICATION AND COOPERATION
? Closely communicate with chemists in quality department about supply chain performance
? Maintain up to date information on relevant law developments, trends, industry initiatives.
? Communicate key aspects of above with relevant internal departments and external stakeholders.
? Identify good practices / activities carried out (by suppliers, other supply chains, stakeholders, brands, internally) and evaluate the possibility of replication/scaling up
? Support Supply Chain sustainability Manager or Environmental Sustainability Manager in analysis, assessment, program/project evaluation
? Cooperate closely with external labs or any relevant external stakeholders

Education and Experience requirements
? University / professional qualification:
o CHEMISTS: Chemistry / Chemical engineer/textile chemistry or related studies
o Environmental specialist: Environmental Science/ Environmental Management/ Environmental Engineering or related studies
? Working experience in chemical/environmental audit or in the chemical/environmental industry, preferably specialized in textile
? Minimum of 3 years work experience from relevant field
Knowledge and Skill requirements
? Expert knowledge on environmental areas : water/ chemicals/energy
? Clear communication skills including both written and verbal presentations
? Auditing experience on manufacturing units, preferable sectors i.e. apparel/footwear etc.
? Language proficiency- English
? Pedagogic skill and good presentation technic
