JOB PURPOSE
A strong lead and coach a team of Product Development Technologists to develop and deliver products meeting specification and quality standard within agreed timeline, through effectively quality management across the supply chain.

ACCOUNTABILITY
PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
1 Ensure all safety, legislative and technical requirements are fully understood by suppliers prior to production
2 Internal process continuous improvement
3 Participate product risk assessment and management together to build into sourcing strategy, communicate quality risk/issue act as part of product quality continuous improvement plan
4 Post delivery quality monitoring and management
SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT
1 Support audits, assessments or inspections.
2 Effective planning and efficient use of resource to support business requirements
3 Responsible for assessing, reducing risk & maximising business opportunities via the development and management of supplier relationships
4 Maintain effective communication interfaces with relevant stakeholders on Quality and Corporate Social Responsibility matters.
1 Accountable for feeding back risk to key stakeholders to facilitate in the development of supplier sourcing strategies.
2 Be aware of ‘Country specific’ legislation or other information that could impact upon sourcing activity or strategy & ensure that this informs business decision making
3 Drive supplier in meeting quality or technical requirements while maintaining good relationship
INTERNAL PROCESSES
4 Contribute to developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures & Best Practices for the ABS operation.
5 Positive challenge to streamline internal process
BUSINESS EFFICIENCY
1 Ensure that Boots and supplier interfaces operate effectively to deliver business benefits
2 Apply Lean principles to all activities
3 Understand impact of own activities on the financial agenda & ABS KPIs
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT / CONTRIBUTE TO TEAM

Budget Management
1 Prepare budget for own product areas and 3rd party inspection

Qualification:
Diploma or above, preferably in a science, engineering or quality related discipline.
Extensive knowledge of US and UK market, with cosmetic or engineering background is a benefit.
Language:
Excellent written/oral English, fluent in Mandarin
Skills:
Quality assurance, problem solving, supplier management, good communication, time management
