Valve Engineer
Location: Beijing
Responsibilities:
The candidate will be required to perform the following functions: Initiates and conducts engineering studies, provides an effective specialized engineering consultations, and introduces viable technologies and maintains standards. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible in providing technical support to all plant operations, new projects activities, or any technical tasks for Asia offices such procurement or localization initiatives such as the assessments of new manufactures or suppliers.
1. Prepare desk review material for new manufacturer’s approval. This includes the verification of manufacturer compliance with company and qualifications such as certifications, standards and specifications.
2. Conduct plant technical assessments in order to qualify new manufacturers, investigates plant deficiency, and issue corrective reports.
3. Provide technical assistance to existing projects, plants or Asia offices.
4. Develop and review engineering scopes and engineering requests from Asia offices or HQ.
5. Resolve valves technical problems for operating facilities and review and approve valve maintenance and repair procedures
6. Provide technical surveys and analysis regarding manufactures capabilities and compliance with international standards and mandatory standards and requirements.
7. Provide new technologies in his specialty to improve operation, energy or efficiency.
Requirements:
1. With 10 years work experience and specific knowledge and practice in the maintenance, repairs, commissioning and testing in the valves industry, with the ability to resolve valve technical problems and recommend maintenance and repair procedures.
2. You will qualify new manufacturers against standards and specifications, investigate manufacturers’ failures, issue corrective actions, provide technical support, prepare or review engineering scopes and provide new technologies to improve efficiency or energy consumption.
3. The candidate will be required to perform pipe stress analysis, Hot-Tap calculations, road crossing calculations, evaluate instrument scrapping results, Fitness-For-Service (FFS) and perform integrity assessment for valves.
4. You should have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and thorough knowledge of engineering practices, calculation methods, and design details, U.S. Codes, Standards and Specifications.
5. Fluent oral and written English.
