About Our Client
With over 150 years history in the construction material industry, my client is a European based company specializing in flooring solutions for a wide range of applications including industrial and residential both in and outdoors. Producing floors from various materials not limited to wood, carpet, vinyl and other artificial, they are currently looking for capable candidates to join their Beijing operations R&D Leader to be responsible for R&D, NPI, Supplier Development and Process Improvement for their manufacturing operations in Beijing.

Job Description

• Develop formulations & implement new raw materials which will be used in the production plant (i.e. to improve quality, reduce cost, break monopolistic situation with suppliers, etc)


• Manage the troubleshooting linked with formulations, raw materials or process with production leaders


• Develop further the existing manufacturing processes by introducing new technologies supported by Shanghai and Group R&D Center. (i.e. identify new techniques for printing, embossing, foaming, etc).


• Work with the functions in relation with local R&D. (Environment, purchasing, marketing, production and design)


• Support local implementation of global programs.


• Make sure that all the aspects regarding safety, environment and quality are in alignment with company objectives.


• Support contacts with external bodies (research institutes, suppliers, etc).


• Nurture the pipeline of new ideas and propose opportunities of new developments.


• Support external and internal benchmarking studies to drive product innovation and to identify areas for improvement.

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor degree in Chemical related fields.


• Strong knowledge in polymer and chemistry with 5 years experience in R&D


• Experienced in R&D project management at both local and international level


• Familiar with multicultural working environment


• Solid leadership ability with willingness to learn.


• Strong English communication skills
