Purpose

Interface with other facilities and OEM’s to design and produce new products. Offer design changes and enhancements to improve the performance of current product line. Work closely with production to insure the manufacturability of all designs. Individual will also support the Corporate Quality policy and ISO- 9001:2000 requirements.



Job Functions

？ Consider and complete all facets of the most complex designs including mechanical, physical and thermal interactions.
？ Perform the completion of the product schematic, component layout, Bill-of-Material, material specifications, computer simulations, supplier arrangements and manufacturing test plan.
？ Focus on the reduction of new product cycle-time reduction.
？ Process prototypes in modes quantities to allow statistically valid evaluations over the necessary operational specifications (i.e. temperature, cycles of operation).
？ Ensure that Test programs are completed and used for the final evaluation of the packaged units.
？ Interface with end-user customers in the successful completion of a beta test.
？ Develop new and patentable ideas for implementation.
？ Analyze competitive products or systems and make recommendations for future technical direction.
？ Stays abreast of new technologies and considers their applications to products to meet demanding, ever-changing market and customer needs.
？ Apply technical knowledge and experience to larger, more complex manufacturing-on-line processes, procedures and/or product improvements to continually improve overall quality.
？ Identify issues, determines alternative solutions and evaluates them to arrive at the most acceptable approach when all aspects are considered.
？ Provide timely technical training and support to manufacturing and office personnel for the successful introduction of new products, process and procedure improvements, existing product improvements, work order modifications, engineering change notices, etc.
？ Devise creative solutions to critical customer needs.
？ Continually strive to exceed the expectations of our internal and external customers.
？ Work as a dependable resource for new, often unexplored ideas to achieve a goal or solve a problem
？ Demonstrate the ability to explain ideas in simple terms to both internal and external audiences.
？ Participate with other department members in the development of technical/process specifications and standards, including product development and manufacturing test procedures.



Educational/Training Requirements

？ Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
？ Minimum two or three years related work experience
？ Proficient in the use of company-owned CAD package (presently Autodesk Inventor with
？ AutoCad and Mechanical Desktop capability for legacy data) and the use of DFA and FM techniques.
？ Plastic injection molding expertise is preferred
？ Advanced skills interacting cross functionally with various departments.
？ Advanced skills in MS Office, relevant software and Internet skills
？ Advanced verbal and written communication skills in the English language
