Job Description
Title: R&D Engineer – Analytics
Location: Shanghai
Reporting: Head of China Research and Technology Center

Objective
To build up technical competence of gas analysis in China R&D center; to lead R&D project execution in China in the field of analytical science; to provide analytical supporting activities for Air Liquide growth in China.


Accountability
? Execute, manage and deliver R&D projects efficiently on time and on budget;
? Represent AL in technical area of responsibility and drive research collaborations with external partners (universities, institutes, and customers);
? Communicate with global R&D analytical team and share responsibility with other project leaders and program managers in the execution of R&D programs;
? Watch for the analytical technologies and equipment development in China;
? Leverage the local ecosystem (SME’s, startups, universities), make external presentations at conferences and with customers;


Qualification
? Master graduate major in analytical chemistry, Ph.D preferred;
? At least 5 years of research and working experience in gas analysis;
? Effective written and verbal communication skills in English;
? Understanding of safety requirements related to gas analysis;
? Have comprehensive knowledge in chemical analytical science with specific in-depth background in instrument analysis;
? Have demonstrated ability to develop and establish new analytical methods independently;
? Good R&D program planning and management;
? Show ability to motivate members in project team to meet milestone targets and deliver results;
? Creative and innovative, contributing novel R&D approaches and related deployable technologies mainly related to development and implementation of new analytical methods;
? Excellent interpersonal, communication, and networking skills to manage numerous stakeholders and work effectively across organization boundaries with external partners (universities, customers);
? Competent to build a network and an expert with extensive network is a plus;
