职位描述

Mission
The Product Engineer is responsible for all technical tasks related to New Product Developments within Projects framework (lead time and budget requests) and also compliance with product specifications and all regulatory standards.
He/she shall be accountable for all kinds of products technical issues during the development phases.
The Product Engineer is eager to manage as well state-of-the-art technologies, as well in finding efficient technical solutions for technical challenges and requests.

Main duties
? Provide technical supports to EU/US NPD initiatives in relation with the Chinese manufacturing landscape by taking the lead from Concept Release to manufacturing (ODM) and from Go Tooling to manufacturing (OEM) and meet specified requirements by the Divisions.
? With the Business Developer counterpart from the Supply department, review vendor quote and conduct product development cost analysis. Review product BOM for implementing cost reduction opportunities or cost improvement program, by redesigning of product and/or material substitution.
? The Product Engineer ensure all technical activities required for doing technical tests and getting homologation approval/certificate of the products related for a production start.
? With the help of Quality Engineering counterpart, evaluate engineering sample and confirm, the engineering sample test result comply with the product specifications and regulatory standards.
? With the supplier, Initiate product evaluation report, identifying all engineering issues, follow product action plans and execute recommendation revisions of the product.
? Review and update the Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA) report to ensure all potential problems are addressed before mass production.
? Assist with the supplier engineering debug through prototype sample making and engineering pilot run.

Moreover, as an Engineer,
? Argue his/her proposals (Quality, times, costs, investments, profitability) in order to allow fast and judicious decision-makings
? Implement the modifications necessary on the products according to the corrective actions started by Quality Management.
? Support the Program Engineer to guarantee the respect of all objectives for the different projects in progress
? Enrich permanently his knowledge of materials and innovating processes through a technical and technological watch.





Level knowledge & experience

? Bachelor’s degree or above in Electronic Engineer or related discipline
? Minimum of 10 years working experience and at least 5 years of supervisory experience in project engineering / management, in electronic consumer products (home appliances, hard/soft toys, medical electronics).
? Strong technical background in electronic design, mechanical design, plastic injection molding, metal tube forming process, plastic mold design and fabrication. Familiar with (overseas) mold standards and requirements is preferred
? Solid experience in developing new products and electronic and plastic and metal parts design, ability to implement industrial design for manufacturing, experience in Juvenile products is preferred
? Experience and ability to identify design and manufacturing problems and provide workable solutions for improving products.
? Sounds knowledge of product regulations or standards such as ASTM, EN, etc.
