Position Summary:
In this newly created position, the Senior Electrical & Electronics Engineer will be responsible for driving a robust and consistent manufacturing process & control across all critical component sub-tier suppliers.
The Sr. Engineer is expected to have extensive knowledge of PCB/PCBA, Electrical/Electronic components, Power System, Electro Mechanical devices (e.g. sensors, switches, optics, etc), primarily in manufacturing process, Quality Control and Metrology. Design knowledge will be an additional asset.
Candidate will also be expected to have in depth knowledge of standards such as IPC610/JEDEC, Cleanroom, ESD, ISO9000, Quality Sampling & Reliability, Control Plan & FMEA.
Candidate is also expected to at least have Quality certification such as Lean Six Sigma greenbelt or equivalent with relevant projects candidate lead. Candidate is also expected to have extensive supplier Quality and Process audit experience.
This position will require both a collaborative nature and ability to influence across organizational lanes at Keurig and at CMs. Soft skill such as influencing, negotiation, command and coaching skills are required assets in working with suppliers and internal stake holders..
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead/Collaborate with contract manufactures (CM) to drive sub-tiers in the development of GMP in the manufacture and production of appliances and associated products
• Assess risk and control at sub-tiers and drive for gap closures
• Work with sub-tiers to identify key improvement area to work on six sigma projects to drive CIP
• Understand needs of CM and Keurig (e.g. goals) and work with sub-tiers to meet expectations
• Deploy CA/PA root cause problem solving at all sub-tiers
• Lead or participate in Audit or assessment of sub-tiers for qualification or sustaining quality improvement
• Apply lean and continuous improvement principles to drive business improvement across sub-tiers’ assembly lines
• Provide technical support and guidance in the developing sub-tiers and CM’s SQE across the Keurig Manufacturing Network
• Lead and mentor projects focused on improving core capabilities and improving efficiency of mfg. systems
• Assist in developing PFMEA, dynamic control plans, and root cause analysis with manufacturing partners as required
• Work within Mfg. Reliability team in developing component level processes and procedures
• Aid third party manufactures in problem solving and root cause analysis
• Support development and implementation of reliability test protocol at sub-tier manufactures
• Support development of systems level dashboards across sub-tier manufactures
• Assist in documenting and developing the Keurig Production System
• Document validation & verification failures based on requirements and test cases
• Develop and perform analysis in support of system design, performance prediction, diagnostics, and post-performance analysis
• Inspire others to share acquired knowledge and can take a supportive role during technical discussions
• Liaise with other Keurig and GMCR departments to successfully contribute to the organization’s goals
• Ability to travel up to 80%
Qualifications:
• Master or Bachelor in Electrical and Electronics Engineering
• Certified Six Sigma Black Belt with project portfolio (Var. Reduction, Lean, DFSS (strong plus))
• 10 years work experience in Manufacturing & Quality roles (related to EE products) with extensive audit
experience as a lead Engineer or supervisory role
• Extensive knowledge in IPC/JEDEC, ESD, Cleanroom Control, Quality & Reliability Standards
• Product launch leader experience (experience working collaboratively across multi-disciplinary team bringing product to market)
• Solid understanding of DOE and regression methods coupled with strong understand of the effects of variance in product and manufacturing systems
• Experience in reliability methods and failure mode analysis (DFMEA, PFMEA)
• Cross over experience in product design, reliability, and quality
• Familiar with statistical process control software such as SAA, Minitab, and JMP and Mat lab. Advanced excel silks to organize and treat data
• Understanding of root cause analysis, CA/PA and problem solving techniques
• Strong quantitative and analytic skills; capable of translating findings into business actions
• Excellent ability to lead guide and lead teams in a collaborative environment
• Ability to present written and verbal presentation to engineering and manufacturing senior management
• Product life cycle experience (start to end)
