You will work closely with hardware engineers and project teams during all stages of the product development cycle. Key duties:
* Take ownership of electrical and safety compliance.
* Drive, define, improve, and document Line 6’s compliance process.
* Shepherd all products through the international regulatory process and ensure that all Line 6 products meet the required international regulatory requirements.
* Work with the test and regulatory agencies to prepare and provide all necessary documentation and product submissions.
* Remain informed of all changes in various worldwide regulatory compliance requirements and proactively inform the design teams of any related impending requirements.
* Participate in design reviews with an eye towards design for compliance.
* Troubleshoot test failures and recommend design changes to meet compliance requirements.
* Identify specific language required on boxes, labels, artwork, etc. to ensure worldwide compliance.
* File the required approval documentation.
* Ensure that compliance issues do not negatively affect product launch dates.
* Provide budgetary estimates for all compliance requirements, and work with Sales and Finance to help identify the associated costs for obtaining compliance in specific countries.
* Manage the compliance approvals for special projects (such as opening new distributors, changing critical components in existing designs, integrating new external power supplies, etc.).
* Maintain a compliance matrix which identifies applicable standards and requirements for all countries that we either ship to or would like to ship to
* Select specific compliance labs to reduce costs and maximize efficiency.
This position will require electrical design, testing, and troubleshooting skills, and there will be some amount of hands-on testing of critical components and systems to ensure reliability and compliance.
Experience/Qualifications:

* Must have experience in a variety of international standards and Nationally Recognized Test Labs (NRTLs), including a subset of the following: UL, CE, CSA, FCC, ETL, INMETRO, PSE, CCC, TUV, Nemko, etc.
* Must have experience with environmental standards and regulations, including WEEE, RoHS, and REACH. This should include a thorough understanding of the documentation required to meet these standards.
* Minimum 8 years of hands-on EMI/EMC/safety compliance testing and related engineering and documentation experience.
* Must have either worked for a certification agency or been personally responsible for obtaining international certifications for at least 20 products.
* Knowledgeable in the latest EMI/EMC/safety regulatory test requirements for both the U.S. and the rest of the world.
* Experience working for a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory would be an excellent qualification.
The following skills are major pluses:

* Experience gaining approvals under IEC 60065 standards.
* A passion for music and proficiency in playing a musical instrument.
Skills Required.
* Must be organized and decisive with strong multi-tasking and task prioritization skills, including significant experience in leading projects and project teams.
* Ability to read schematics, interpret PCB Gerber data, understand technical design documents, communicate efficiently with a broad range of stakeholders, including hardware design engineers, project managers, Sales, Finance, and product managers.
* Must possess a basic theoretical understanding of electronics including PCBs, analog, digital and power circuitry, and the interaction between said circuitry and various forms of mechanical packaging including metal, plastic and wood.
* Good electrical and mechanical hands-on and re-work related skills.
* Must be a self-starter and able to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment with a minimum of supervision.
