职位描述
Position Description:
Working closely with customers, sourcing and planning departments, conduct product development activities to satisfy customer needs.
Evaluation of product concepts for manufacturability,
Monitor daily status of line development including production, design, and technical design.
Must fully understand toys manufacturing process to insure compliance to all lead times.
Analyze all price quotes, work with merchants to insure target costs are achieved, and understand fabric and yarn costs.
Approve all key materials (fabric, plastics parts, electronic components etc) for appearance, quality, feature and function, using formal guidelines and technical knowledge.
Approve prototype samples for style details and construction.
Initiate and prepare design specification packages to give to Technical Design.
Manage workflow from initial sketch through final placement of styles.
Manage approval process of all engineering changes.
Initiate testing of new styles and concepts.
Daily communication with Customers
Train, supervise and evaluate personnel within the department.
Job Requirements:
5-8 years’ experience in a product development role, preferably at the level of Product Manager or above.
Experience with the Toy Industry critical
A team player with a demonstrated ability to problem solve and partner with appropriate Buyers, Planners and others to effect solutions.
Strong verbal & written communication skills.
Very fluent language skills (English and Putonghua)
Knowledge of Industry compliance standards and procedures..
College Degree or equivalent experience.
Computer proficiency in MS Word and Excel and development software.
Good people management and coordination skills.
Candidate Profile:
Hongkong Expatriate preferred, likely to be between late 30’s or early 40’s, with previous stationed service in Southern China Guangdong/Pearl River Delta).
Has progressed from junior (associate/engineer level) to a product development role with aspiration to move up in a foreign business environment in the Toy industry in China,
Some manufacturing management exposure desirable.
Experienced in plush toys with plastics and electronic components, for the early childhood stage (0 Months+ ),
Substantial interaction with customers’ representatives at all levels (from Customer QC to very senior staff at the Customers’ foreign offices)
Conversant on toys trends, standards and regulatory affairs.
Conversant on Industry Compliance Standards (e.g. the ICTI) and ISO9001;
A good mix of creativity and problem solving capabilities and ability to turn customer queries/complaints to product solution alternatives.
