Job description / Mission
Mission Statement:
The Global Network Operations Team member will be member of a Team focusing on the operational service and support delivery of IT Network related services. She / he will work in projects to improve the quality, efficiency and availability of the IT Networks.
The Global Network Operations Team will ensure 2nd and 3rd level service delivery of these platforms to business units globally.
The Global Network Operations Team is accountable for the service delivery of Wide Area Network, Local Area Network, Voice over IP, Video Conference and related technologies.
The Global Network Operations Team will work closely with the rest of the IT Operations Service Team as well as with the IT Customer Service organization to ensure high quality support for Business Services IT Service Area services globally including operational continuous improvement efforts.
She/ he will work actively with the business units to understand their requirements and document how we add value to them.
With this vacancy we are searching for a candidate with a strong focus on Wide Area Network and Cisco technologies.
Additional information:
Tasks:
- Complete project management lifecycle of WAN solutions and integrations with some involvement to LAN and wireless LAN solutions.
- 2nd and 3rd line support – analyze complex problems and propose / implement a sustainable solution
- Define and implement configurations, changes and maintenance activities.
- Perform "IMAC" (Installation, Move, Add and Change) activities on existing and new network solutions
- Day-to-day planning of maintenance/support tasks, functional improvements and integrations
- Further development and functionality improvements of the existing network services
Experience Requirements
Solid experience with Cisco network (WAN, LAN, routing, VLAN, QoS and VoIP solutions )
Basic project management skills or experience
Awareness of ITIL based processes
Experience with carrier / supplier management and ordering / coordination processes including quality assurance, invoice control, dispute management and similar
Knowledge / Educational requirements
Solid experience with the below areas:
- TCP-IP basics is a must, advanced knowledge is an advantage
- Wide Area Network (WAN) technology
- Quality of Service (QoS) concepts and configurations
- Network monitoring, troubleshooting (SNMP, Netflow...)
Experience in the below areas is an advantage:
- IP-Telephony and Voice over IP (VoIP) Technology
- Wireless LAN technology
- Local Area Network (LAN) technology
- Unified communications functionality (Voicemail, contact center) is an advantage
- Cisco Unified Communication Manager concepts and basic configuration is an advantage
- Server technology basic knowledge
Certification in one or more areas is an advantage.
Bachelor degree in Information Technology or similar through experience.
Fluency in English, spoken and written is a must. Other languages are an asset.
CCNA certification required or any higher certification is an advantage.
