Summary
The resource needs to administer all Client Computing engineering activities including building GPO's, login script updates and maintenance, developing and testing packages, image development, develops, oversees and implements test plans and reviews and automates manual processes whenever possible.
The resource is expected to have a working knowledge of all Client Computing Management tools, utilities, policies and procedures; as well as lead the disaster recovery process for the client computing environment. The resource needs to works with the client computing service delivery and other IT areas to resolve enterprise problems impacting client computing performance. The resource needs to join certain night meetings to collaborate with global team.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience using InstallShield AdminStudio. Added pluses are Wise Package Studio (or other packaging software) for repackaging software applications (MSI/Windows Installer format)
- MCSE or other related certification
- Working knowledge of PC Backup, Migration and Asset management technologies.
- Knowledge of MSI/Windows Installer format
- Experience in software and system implementation
- Familiarity of project management principles
- Experience in VMware workstation (for repackaging software)
- Experience in creating technical documentation
- Experience in scripting (VBScript, batch files, InstallScript, Wise Script, etc.)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Active Directory Group Policies, Exchange, and Windows Servers
- Excellent written and oral communications skills and the ability to clearly define projects, objectives, goals, schedules, and assignments
- Ability to work effectively with business personnel at all levels as well as with outside vendors and contractors
- Demonstrated knowledge of application testing environments
- Demonstrated knowledge of LAN topology, routers, hubs, switches, and network protocols (TCP/IP, IPX)
- In-depth working knowledge of enterprise supporting operating systems (Microsoft Windows XP), and the Microsoft Office suite of applications
- Willingness and ability to adapt to rapid changes in order to support and use future technology
- Excellent time management, customer service, and multi-tasking skills
- Exercise independent judgment under minimum of supervision
- Four-year college degree with emphasis in a computer related field or the equivalent skill, knowledge, and mental development
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines, follow written policies and procedures, and maintain superior customer service at all times with all users
Qualifications
- Experience engineering a large Windows desktop/laptop/Citrix/Active Directory environment
- Experience project managing, deploying and supporting large scale O/S migrations and introducing new technology based on business needs and industry standards
- Solid foundation designing and implementing distributions with WSUS, Active Directory, SMS/Altiris for the full lifecycle with diagrams, workflow Visio’s, support documentation and training, presentations, etc.
- Resource Kit level knowledge of Windows XP and Windows 7
- Ability to work independently without intensive oversight – must be a go-getter and take initiative on a regular basis finding ways to avoid problems proactively rather than just fixing them after the fact
- Initiative and ability to research problems independently, finding root cause
- Emphasis on sharing of knowledge through good communications, peer training and written documentation
- Strong inter-personal skills
- Positive customer service and team attitude (helping others when required)

- Four-year college degree preferred with emphasis in a computer related field or the equivalent skill, knowledge, and mental development
