Responsibility

1. Responsible for supporting the Oracle databases and ensuring their performance, availability and security.

2. Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of production databases.

3. Proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime.

4. Responsible for providing trend analysis to the service management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management.

5. Responsible for problem escalation to Oracle Development team and third parties as appropriate.

6. Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and upgrades.

7. Responsible for implementation and release of database changes as submitted by the application team

Requirement

1. At least 5 years experience.

2. Proven Oracle Database Administration experience.

3. Experience of managing multiple RDBMS on large systems (AIX, HPUX, Linux)

4. Experience of working in a team that delivers a high availability service.

5. Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service.

6. Experience of other database systems, preferably SQL Server, DB2 and Informix

7. Oracle Certification, preferably OCP is a plus
