JOB SUMMARY
Quality Assurance is responsible for ensuring that component and product manufacturing processes are capable of consistently producing components/product which meet Division’s Quality specifications and requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. During the Product Development cycle Quality Assurance will work with Quality Engineering to determine if Supplier’s manufacturing plan is capable of assuring Division’s quality goals are met and the product transitions smoothly from Piloting through Production start.
2. Quality Assurance will provide support to Dorel China Engineering/Suppliers relative to manufacturing process quality. Such support will consist of, but not be limited to, process control plans, work station instructions, and training in manufacturing best practices.
3. Train Quality Inspectors in Division requirements, process controls, and work station instructions to ensure a full understanding of expectations.
4. Support Quality Assurance Supervisor to monitor and audit Quality Inspectors work performance to ensure inspections plans are met, and techniques/results remain consistent.
5. Ensure that all Quality Assurance/Inspection documentation is maintained properly.
6. Ensure that all Quality Assurance/Inspection reports are published in a timely manner and that information compiled is complete and accurate.
7. Provide lead quality support for NCR’s and CAR’s. ECN’s, supplier moves and cost reductions.
8. Monitor implementation of ECN during inspections to ensure engineering changes occur as specified and on schedule.
9. Assist in the development of a quality improvement strategy from Division, inspection, consumer, and retailer quality data and work with supplier to implement strategy plans when production/process is identified as the contributor..
10. Conduct periodic audits of suppliers’ manufacturing process to identify and implement quality improvements and cost reduction.
11. Provide Quality Inspection support on an as needed basis.
JOB REQUIREMENT

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

1. College Degree, Technical Degree or above (post High School degree required)
2. Experience with Juvenile Products, Toys, Furniture, or Bicycle is preferred
3. Knowledge of plastic molding, metal fabrication, fabric manufacturing, and/or component or assembly manufacturing processes.
4. Over 3-years working experience in Quality related field is a must.
5. Good understanding and working experience in Quality assurance and Quality improvement is a must
6. Experience on Lean Manufacturing is preferred

SKILLS:

1. Proficient in English reading and writing. Good spoken English desired
2. Knowledgeable in the use of the Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
3. Good communication skills.
4. No color blindness. (QAI will be required to inspect products for color accuracy during production).
