Responsibilities

1. Participate as a member of the department's management team in the development of new product process strategies, plans and improvement initiatives and other general management and administrative activities.

2. Provides leadership over highly complex and high priority design projects. Provides direction, guidance and engineering expertise to team members. Review work of designers, engineers and other project team members.

3. Manage engineering team in new product development from initial design stage to mass production release with very little guidance. Develop new concept design per the input from advanced engineering.

4. Facilitate project flow including regular communication with other functional team members.

5. Interact with suppliers to develop part/product specifications that meet performance requirements. Analyze, evaluate and select from design execution alternatives to best meet specification objectives and implement designs into mass production.

6. Responsible for the completion of assigned engineering projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines.

7. Communicates, both verbal and written, to assure all groups are working toward the goal of timely project completion. Communicate technical details, ideas, and concepts to engineers and non-engineers in multiple locations.

8. Accountable for technical elements of project execution including integration of complicated components and assemblies, material selection, packaging and safety, regulatory and standards compliance.

9. Plan and oversee design and safety reviews as needed to gain necessary approvals for product development phase progressions.

10. Comply with all Milwaukee procedures covering new product development and design output in addition to procedures of non-engineering departments related to project flow.

11. Maintains an awareness of competitive offerings and the general business climate in the power tool industry.

12. Identify project risks and implement risk reduction plans.

Specifications

1. Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering. Graduate studies preferred in mechanical engineering areas. Formal project management training is preferred.

2. Minimum 7 years engineering experience in related field.

3. Experience successfully managing low-moderate complexity projects and/or subsystems of larger projects.

4. Must possess a high level of Mechanical engineering aptitude including a broad knowledge of engineering materials used in power tool accessories as well as an understanding of manufacturing process associated with these materials. Strong technical background on metal machining, heat-treatment and metallurgy knowledge is an advantage.

5. Must have a working design knowledge of a wide variety of the technologies associated with Milwaukee products. Must be able to personally conduct detailed analyses, or recognize the need and seek the appropriate expertise to achieve the desired results.

6. Ability to draft compressive test plans and specifications.

7. Familiar with UG in 3D CAD design.

8. Fluent English communication skill is required.

9. Able to work pro-actively and effectively, self-starter and hardworking.

10. Able to travel to US and PRC freely.
