JOB DESCRIPTION
* 30% Monitoring/Assessment (deriving from Auditor competencies)
Lead the monitoring of PUMA.SAFE standards (Social, H&S, Envt) at the supplier factories as assigned in keeping with PUMA.SAFE targets for the supply chain. Conduct PUMA.SAFE audits in assigned factories within the Areas of Responsibility (AoR). Manage Puma’s 3rd party audits (in areas where this is applicable) and evaluate the quality of 3rd party auditors' performance. Update SAFE database with the audit results conducted internally or from 3rd parties as indicated in the Internal SAFE SOP. Lead the feedback process to respective Team Heads and respective internal stakeholders (i.e. Sourcing).
* 20% Remediation & Verification (deriving from Auditor, Training and Partnership Brokering competencies)
Perform remediation and verification visits of supplier factories in country/region, to promote compliance with the letter and spirit of the Puma Code of Conduct and Manuals of Standards (Social, Environment, Safety and Health) and applicable local laws. Track overall compliance progress in accordance with factory activity plans and work in partnership with factories to achieve PUMA.SAFE targets for the supply chain.
* 15% Capability Building (deriving from Partnership Brokering; Project Development, Implementation, Monitoring & Evaluation; Presentation; Social Strategy; and Training Development/Delivery competencies)
Identify factory capability building opportunities through monitoring and remediation activities at the country/regional level and lead the development of programs in the country/region with the support of the SE Asia Strategic Compliance Manager, the Strategic Projects Managers and Team Head. Locally lead on development and implementation of labor, safety, health and environmental training programs aimed to develop factory ownership of such initiatives. Coordinate and implement capability building plans at assigned supplier factories according to factory activity plans (CAPs and Roundtable feedback). Promote management systems approach/PDCA methods at the factories, assess effectiveness of the intervention and report to SAFE leadership. Coordinate and/or conduct training of WorldCat, licensee production teams and factory management/worker teams to promote understanding of the Code and Standards to drive business and factory ownership of Strategic Compliance.
* 10% Knowledge Management (derives from competencies on Communications, Social Strategy, Partnership Brokering, Systems Development)
Communicate audit results to factory management and to the SAFE Leadership with specific focus on serious and critical issues. Report factory's progress to all relevant internal stakeholders. Collect information for both internal needs (country reports/newsletters, senior management updates, etc.) and external commitments (FLA reports, Puma annual reports, etc.). Keep all information for supplier factories updated in the SAFE db. Implement KPI management tracking at the factory level, particularly data that would be relevant for internal and external projects. Assist SAFE Leadership in evaluating that data for strategic decision-making on allocating compliance resources. Represent the compliance needs and issues of region/country to SAFE management, and attend such calls, conferences, classes, etc. as are necessary to make that flow of information a value-added to the company. Maintain product and process knowledge and keep up-to-date with developments in manufacturing as well as relevant local and regional social developments that could impact operations. Be a resource for licensee/subsidiary teams on Labor, HSE regulatory compliance and capabilities.
* 10% Collaboration (derives from Partnership Brokering competency)
Establish relationships with local regulatory agencies and civil society, as directed by SAFE Leadership with a view to engagement in shared compliance and capacity building programs. Develop strong working relationships with direct and licensee/subsidiary production staff and factory compliance teams.
* 10% Systems, Tools, Regulations, Policies & Standards (derives from Systems Development competency)
Track local laws and regulations and voluntary standards concerning operational issues (not product), communicate to factories and production teams as needed. Provide support to global and regional initiatives initiated by FLA and Kering, internal system & tool development projects including upgrades and protocols as assigned by Team Heads. Assess internal quality of a variety of monitoring, analysis and reporting processes to ascertain effectiveness. Recommend suggestions for improvement and where possible implement the approved improvements in coordination with all necessary parties as maybe required.
* 5% Team Engagement
Contribute to bi-weekly/monthly team activity reports, track and report own expenses and complete expense reports properly and on-time, actively participate in at least 80% of team calls/meetings. Continuously seek to improve team effectiveness by positively contributing to planning and feedback processes.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
- Prior experience with Supply Chains / Sustainability-related field, preferably in the consumer goods industry or have worked in international organizations in projects this field
- at least 3+ years working experience in the field
- Fluency in English (required), Chinese (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) required. Proficiency in Lotus-based system preferred.
- Passionate about social and environmental corporate responsibility, with an understanding of complex labor, social and environment issues
- Extensive knowledge & experience of working in/with supply chains and Codes of Conduct in many Southeast Asian countries, primarily Vietnam and Cambodia
- 40-50% travel expected
