Job Title: sBU Controller - Asia Pacific
Salary Range:60-70k*13m
BU: Wood Finishes & Adhesives
Sub BU: Wood Finishes - Asia Pacific
Location: China - Guangdong
Reports to: BU Finance Director,with strong dotted-line reporting to the sBU Director
Functional reporting:

1. Margin Mgmt Manager - Wood Finishes Asia
2. SAP Manager - Wood Finishes Asia
3. Assistant sBU Controller - Wood Finishes Asia Pacific
Key Objectives/Principal Accountabilities (kindly limit to a maximum of eight)
- Be the Financial "conscience" of the SBU
- As a member of SBU Management team, contributes in strategy formulation as well as ensuring successful operation of the SBU business objectives
- As a member of the BUFMT and as such co-responsible for formulating and implementing the BU's Control and accounting plans.
- To ensure that information is produced on a timely and accurate basis, and that this information is understood by management.
- Coordinates, based on BU directions/guidelines, drives the SBU RF and long range planning processes
- Challenges and confirms, via rigorous financial criteria, major decisions of the SBU
- To ensure compliance and ethical procedures of the Finance Manual are adhered to.
- To provide finance and economic advice and support
- To support and coordinate the efficient use of IT
Responsibilities include:
- Provides financial and economical analysis for investments, acquisitions and disinvestments, restructuring and any other events that have a significant input of the financials of the SBU.
- Implements functional directives/guidelines coming from the BU controller and from the head office
- Plays an proactive role in identifying and suggesting value implementation opportunities, OWC reduction, etc
- Responsible for the control and accounting activities in Asia Pacific, including preparing monthly, quarterly and annual management and statutory financial reports
- Coordinates all tax, financing and audit issues in the region with the corporate and external parties
- Ensure companywide financial policies are adhered to.
- Minimise exposure to risks in the treasury systems.
- Ensure Finance functions are effectively managed.
- Ensure information systems are effectively managed.
- Manage finance staff, responsible for staff selection, PD&D, career development and training, utilizing the company systems and principles.
- Assist in managing Information Technology systems and processes.
- Coordinate the Budget and planning and forecasting processes.
- Develop objectives and plans for the efficient running of the sBU Finance Functions.
- Liaise with outside Auditors, Banks etc as required.
- Develop a strong team that supports the business success in the region.
- Provide financial data and analysis related to Dynamo projects
- Support one Finance initiatives in the region.
Requirements for Job (education or experience required to be able to perform this job):
- University degree in Finance
- At least 10 years experience as business Controller
- Commercially and strategically aware, strong business acumen
- Willingness to support the SBU Director as a business partner
- Strong integrity and ability to truly support and help drive the business
- Strive for business understanding and achieving what's best for the business
- High level of analytical thinking with strong self initiative
- Ability to plan and work independently towards agreed goals
- Self-reliant, dedicated, service minded and a truly reliable team-player
- Strong communications skills
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written
- International experience preferred. Familiar with accounting systems and control systems would be a plus
