Position Summary: | ||||||||||||||||
The qualified candidate will have a working knowledge of selected factories in China for the purpose of developing and managing contract manufacturing relationships on behalf of Direct Source China. | ||||||||||||||||
Essential Job Functions: | ||||||||||||||||
1. | Full understanding and competency around a wide variety of materials and commodities including metal works, plastics, electromechanical and assemblies. Working knowledge of tooling in all categories of manufacturing. | |||||||||||||||
2. | 10 years or more of China sourcing and supply chain experience with a working knowledge of China's regional strengths by specific industries. Ability to identify "best in class" factories based on DSC's "8 Step Factory Qualification" survey. | |||||||||||||||
3. | Ongoing site visits, cost negotiations, translation of project specific details, monitoring of quality assurance requirements, production standards and timelines and coordination of samples. Complete "ownership of project" from beginning to completion and all ongoing production. | |||||||||||||||
4. | Proficiency with components of cost including labor, material and overhead. Ability to verify cost based on commodity index pricing, line labor analysis, packaging and logistics. | |||||||||||||||
5. | University degree or specialized training in various aspects of manufacturing including mechanical, engineering, product development, and other core competencies. | |||||||||||||||
