POSITION DESCRIPTION
My job is:
I use my knowledge of our company and our local market to work together with the management group and my team, in an inspiring, supportive and challenging way. I do this to steer the store towards growth, optimal performance and sustained long term profitability, in line with the OUR COMPANY’S objectives and values. I always take a multi-dimensional view, considering customer, commercial, people, financial and operational perspectives.
Purpose of function:

  • To navigate the growth of our company and steer the business towards sustained long term profitability by:
    • being driven by our company’s business idea, culture and values, with a focus on sustainable profitability.
    • being a pro active trustworthy partner taking a multidimensional view in becoming the leader in life at home
    • identifying and evaluating business opportunities to enable our company’s organizations to make optimum decisions
    • initiating and supporting the development of new ways of working, with focus on simplicity
    • providing relevant and user friendly business information standardized for all our company’s organizations.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Customers

  • I ensure our store is always a safe and secure environment for visitors and co-workers and that our property is safeguarded.
  • I am proactive in using all the information and tools available, to ensure a multidimensional approach to steering the business in order to achieve growth and sustained long term profitability with our customers in focus.

Commercial

  • I work with the store team by supporting and challenging them so we grow our business with sustained long term profitability.

People

  • I am seen by co-workers in all functions as an approachable, trustworthy and knowledgeable speaking partner who leads by example. I actively lead and develop co- operation across all areas of the store, through working closely together, sharing knowledge and showing understanding of each other’s responsibilities in order to achieve our objectives.

Financial

  • I partner with the Store Manager in coordinating the Management process. We work together to ensure that the store is steered towards common our company’s objectives and executes the commercial direction in an efficient and effective way.

Operations

  • I have the knowledge and ability to partner with the Store Manager in achieving excellence in operations. As BNOM I work with my different matrix managers to ensure I understand and work with global and national priorities. I am responsible for the following areas and/or departments:

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous management experience in a financial/commercial role with proven analytical and numerical skills
  • Understand the profit and loss and how to affect its result through actions
  • Experience of setting and implementing action plans, setting budgets, provide clear direction and following up goals
  • Ability to quickly develop knowledge of the local market and business conditions and take commercial decisions based on this information
  • Self-reliant and motivated with proven ability to work as part of a larger team
  • Experience of leading in a changing environment
  • Open minded and actively seeks out new ways of working
  • Ability to prioritise and organise my work and the work of others in order to make the most efficient use of time available
  • Experience of adapting to different styles of working to get the best out of all the team (situational leadership)
  • Ability to engage a receiver by creating a passion for your plans
  • Ability to confront and manage poor performance
  • Ability to read and understand written English and speak basic English
  • Ability to communicate confidently and clearly in English
