Position Summary:



A Specification Engineer will directly support the Powers Fasteners China sales team. The position will require a deep technical understanding of fastening and anchoring disciplines as well as typical construction and jobsite practices for projects such as commercial construction, subway, high-speed rail and nuclear power stations. The sales engineer will frequently accompany the sales team on sales calls to design offices and owner meetings. The Sales Engineer will need to understand Powers products, specifications, applications and design requirements. Job functions include but are not limited to:



- Meetings with design engineers to discuss product applications and benefits

- Technical presentations to design institutes and design firms

- Jobsite visits to conduct on-site testing or installation training

- Providing technical recommendations or assistance to support sales staff

- Conducting technical competitive analysis on other products in the market

- Detailed engineering calculations according to design requirements

- Support engineers in using the Powers design software\

- Attending seminars and conventions to promote the Powers products

- Technical problem solving



Qualifications:


- University degree in civil engineering or structural engineering

- Master's degree in civil or structural engineering preferred

- 3-5 years of work experience in engineering field, engineering sales preferred

- Or experience in designing structure concrete and civil engineering.

- Minimum 1 year experience in fastening or anchoring position

- Able to read, write, analyze and interpret technical drawings, designs, documents and standards in both English and Chinese

- Able to work with high-level mathematical concepts such as physics, geometry and probability

- Familiar with computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite



Travel Expectations:


The Specification Engineer position will be based from the Powers China Headquarters office, but will require frequent domestic travel to design institutes, jobsites and customer offices.



Physical Demands:


The position will require occasional jobsite visits which typically require the use of equipment such as power tools, hammer drills and proof loading equipment.
