Purpose of position:
This is a full time position reporting to the GM Technical & Product Development North Asia and is responsible for the development of the Group’s portfolio of Industrial Board based products. The position will work closely with Sales & Manufacturing staff in order to realise opportunities to increase sales and profits through new product development and improving the performance of existing products. The role will require the coordination of activity across multiple businesses located in various local and international locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
? Significant Sales Enquiries
o Support major tenders in the costing process and follow up
o Find a competitive advantage where required
? Customer Contact
o Assist sales with customer enquiries and contact if required
? Asset Management and Selection
o ID and assist in new technology
o Ensure process and efficiency improvements are ID and implemented
? R.M & Coatings Research
o Source & provide technical advice to enhance material knowledge across the Group
? Product Design Innovation
o Harness new or improved product ideas from Sales & Manufacturing staff
o Monitor external activity and product development / evolution in the market
o Identify new or copy cat products
? New Product Development (NPD) Process
o Ensure standard procedures are followed through to product sign off
o Improve speed to market of new or improved products
o Monitor & document trials from costing through approvals and follow up
o Analyse the performance of recently completed NPD projects
? Competitor Product Analysis
o Initiate costing & benchmarking activities
o Drive margin improvements and cost downs
? Range Review
o Work with Sales to value add to or reduce product cost or rationalise range

Key Relationships:
? Group’s industrial sales, marketing & technical teams
? Group & local technical personnel, marketing, operations and procurement teams

Qualifications & Skills:
? A tertiary qualification in Technical or Engineering;
? Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously;
? Strong interpersonal skills, influencing & communication skills with a proven ability to work with cross functional and multi-cultural teams;
? Ability to take initiative & manage resources to achieve deadlines;
? Experience in Product Development in industrial carton technical / manufacturing environment;
? Well developed commercial skills in product costing, ROI, ROPA and sales analysis;
? Well developed project management skills.
