POSITION DESCRIPTION
Responsible for the maintenance, administration and overall support of the data warehouse. This developer will work closely with the data warehouse development team, customers and other colleagues in the IT department to analyse operational data sources, determine data availability, define the data warehouse schema and develop reporting.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Responsible for the maintenance, administration and overall support of the data warehouse. This developer will work closely with the data warehouse development team, customers and other colleagues in the IT department to analyse operational data sources, determine data availability, define the data warehouse schema and develop reporting.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collect enterprise business and information needs by gathering and analysing requirements to ensure informational needs of users are met.
- Develop user-friendly interfaces for reporting and distribution systems.
- Define and create packages and reports that meet end user requirements and perform efficiently.
- Development of enterprise dashboards, reports, KPI and metrics.
- Develop and utilize query standards to insure a high degree of consistency surrounding the layout and usability of the enterprise data warehouse (EDW) / BI tools as delivered.
- Monitor data integrity and file creation and transfer to insure accurate results.
- Implement automatic and semi-automatic processes for incremental refresh of the data warehouse with changes in application data and ensure that they are executed without impacting the operational systems.
- Provide on-call support, receive, analyse and resolve incident tickets from the IT Help for EDW/BI reporting system and execute change control processes.
- Acquire and improve skills in new technologies through education and professional organizations.
- Assist business and IS managers in developing detailed plans to accomplish approved projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- College degree in MIS or related field (or equivalent).
- Two or more years of MIS experience.
- Support EDW utilizing enterprise reporting tools like Cognos reporting studios, Power Play, Impromptu, Data Manager, Informatica, Oracle 11 and SQL.
- Determine the most effective methods to transform the needed data for client reports, queries and enhancements to EDW/BI.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with end-users and co-workers.
- Highly motivated self-starter.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Project planning and schedule oriented.
Desirable:
- Technical proficiency in one or more of the following skills: UNIX Shell Script, UNIX control scripts, UNIX Commands and SQL Developer.
- Windows Server
- Data Warehouse development in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Experience with Cognos and Informatica business intelligence tools.
- Experience with Oracle ERP applications.
