职位描述
The Supplier Quality / Development Engineer will support supplier development initiatives in Asia to enhance the overall effectiveness of supplier operations and achieve operational excellence. Drive lean manufacturing and fulfillment initiatives for key suppliers to make process improvements and waste reductions. Work with purchasing and other resources to drive continuous improvement projects. Ensure all processes and initiatives meet all legal compliance requirements throughout China.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop, recommend and implement continuous improvement strategies to suppliers in manufacturing process for quality improvement, cost and cycle time reduction.
2. Provide support to suppliers on manufacturing process control and improvement with required quality standard.
3. Drive Lean implementation in suppliers' operation to perform waste elimination.
4. Collaborate with purchasing team and other resources within company to plan, execute and follow up continuous improvement projects.
5. Provide professional advice and trainings to internal purchasing team and suppliers in Asia.
6. Extend Lean implementation in overall supply chain function.
7. Drive all quality initiatives in helping the supply base achieve operational excellence.
8. Assist in completing PPAP and other required documentation in support of the NPI process.
9. Facilitation of supplier corrective action activity required as a result of product audits, customer audits, or field issues. Must lead the supplier through the process of problem definition, root cause analysis, solution finding, implementation, and verification.
10. Implement and sustain processes and initiatives to ensure compliance with social standards and legal requirements throughout China.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor degree in Quality Management/ Industrial/ Manufacturing Engineering or related disciplines.
Experience:
1. Minimum 3 years of experience in continuous improvement and quality initiatives for manufacturing operation.
2. Experience in performing Code of Conduct factory audits (e.g SA8000) and quality management system factory audit (e.g ISO 9001)
3. Experience with multinational sourcing companies is preferred.
4. Experience with formal supplier quality system assessments and product/part qualifications.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge on product safety and regulatory requirement (UL, FCC, CSA, TUV etc.)
2. Sound track record of implementing Lean with good knowledge of Lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Cell Manufacturing, SMED, Kanban etc.
3. Strong statistical and supplier management background. Understanding of Six Sigma, preferably a certified Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
4. Knowledge of Kaizen, and ability to recognize the need to initiate supplier events.
5. Good leadership with business acumen and the ability to lead change.
6. Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem solving skills.
7. Team player, results oriented and open minded. Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Proficiency in both written & spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).
8. Excellent presentation skills.
