Responsibilities:

1. Manage review of APAC advertising materials and packaging and respond to any regulatory inquiries
2. Counsel re. China trademark strategy
3. Mandarin transliterations of product names, slogans/taglines and logos
4. Ensure overall legal compliance for all advertising and marketing activities in the region, including promotions/sweepstakes/lucky draws
5. Draft and negotiate licenses, authorizations and agreements as needed
6. Manage legal portions of Brand Protection actions in region and interface with investigators, in cooperation with the Global Brand Protection Manager and Brand Protection Team
7. Serve as first point of contact for Brand Protection inquiries (internal and external) in the APAC region
8. Represent SanDisk at rights owner meetings
9. Provide, with support from the Global Brand Protection Manager, product identification and awareness training to external (law enforcement) and internal audiences
10. Provide training and education to internal clients regarding subject matter areas
11. Maintain close coordination and availability with team members in EMEA and US to ensure alignment with team policies and procedures

Experience Requiments:

·Minimum education –Law degree from top tier law school in China; US Juris Doctorate or LLM preferred

·5+ years in-house experience with a multinational company preferred supporting trademark/branding, advertising and brand protection issues

·Previous experience in Brand Protection methodology and implementation

·Knowledge of the conduct of investigations, including interview techniques, reporting, collection of evidence ,legal requirements and management of contract investigators in a multinational environment

·Proven ability to drive strategy, prioritize and mobilize resources across a wide geographical area

·Demonstrated ability to coordinate a broad variety of matters and to manage them efficiently

·Driven problem solver with ability to work independently with minimal supervision

·Cultural and business knowledge of APAC regions

·Ability to travel for extended periods, often at short notice

Additional Requiments:

·Fluent in English and Mandarin verbal and written communications, including clear and concise presentation skills

·Previous membership of Law Enforcement would be beneficial but not essential

·Previous experience in working with a multinational corporation preferred

·Discretion and integrity – gain trust of others to discuss and respond to sensitive and legally privileged issues

·Hold a clean passport with no restrictions for entry (outside of standard Visa) to any specific countries or recognized geographical regions
