Principal Accountabilities:

• Customer contact: in collaboration with Account Managers engage with customers to identify new business opportunities and add value to current business relations. Provide technical leadership when dealing with customers (e.g. identifying new customer solution opportunities).Providing after sales support to customers.

• Internal customer contact: engage with key Cargill functional and across BU contacts to service key customers (resolve product related complaints and customer/system audits) and deliver successful customer solutions (NPD leadership and timely solutions through connectivity with global Cargill refined oils technical personnel). This will include operations, quality (Product Technology Supervisor) and RDA centres.

• Fats and Oils Expert: provide advice as required to both internal & external customers.

-Provide regular formulation expertise and provide advice on potential formulation changes to both internal and external customers.

-Advise commercial teams and customers on application of products.

-Provide appropriate training and education in the area of product quality, fats and oils processing, applications and nutrition.

-Ensure all relevant documentation is in place to support product range (e.g. BOM, Product Specifications, labeling requirements and MSDS).

-Keep abreast of key product/process developments within the Cargill organization.

• Innovation:

-Be involved in promoting and encouraging innovative solutions to enhance the business’ profitability.

-Manage the research and development processes pertaining to new or improved products, providing sound technical data and analysis, thorough assessment of potential value creation.

-Identify and manage key product / process issues for the Refined Oils business that are critical to the long-term competitive position.

-Managing the preparation all the relevant documentation on product improvement/new product development I.e. data sheets/recipes/technical brochures.

-Be a champion of the innovation project database (Project Tracker).

Essential Position Requirements:

• Willing to travel (40% to 50%) to customer locations on a regular basis both within and outside China.
• The responsibilities of the Technical Services Specialist are related to the refinery operations located in China. The customers are located throughout China.
• The ability to co-ordinate internal and external resources to execute responsibilities. Good working relationships are essential.
• Ability to communicate with a diverse range of personnel, e.g. plant operators to senior company executives.

Education, Experience, Skills:

• Bachelor of Chemistry or Food Technology or related discipline.
• 1 to 3 years of working in a laboratory environment which is a part of a manufacturing company. Preferably in food manufacturing industry
• HACCP, EHS, Laboratory testing, product development, project management
• Some experience in one or more of the following:

-Experience in bakery application.(for technical service of bakery fats product line, experience in retail or industrial bakery application is a must, worked as R&D technolist or process techlogist in bakery plant manufacturer is preferable)

-Experience in chocolate/cocoa processing (moulding, coating, ice-cream). Chocolate recipe development with various specialty fats.

-Experienced in oils and fats technology/modification.

-Experience in non dairy creamer and non dairy topping application

-Experience in frying fats application for food, snack food and instant noodles.

-Experience in different oils blends for food service applications.

• Applied knowledge of application of fats & oils in food applications(bakery, chocolate, frying and convenience food etc.)
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Marketing/selling skill and customer solutions oriented
• Lab knowledge/management system like ISO and HACCP
• Strategic intent focus
