Title: Quality and Engineering Manager
Hiring Manager: Quality and Engineering Director
Location: Shenzhen, China

JOB SUMMARY
? Reporting to the Director of Quality & Engineering, this role is the primary owner of the Quality and Engineering function on assigned company business line. She/he is responsible to oversee and manage the total quality process (product development, supplier quality management and after-sales services support) and to ensure the quality of the delivered product can satisfy specification, customer and compliance requirement.
? This position requires extensive experience of working collaboratively alongside with suppliers and customers to develop and implement Quality improvement programs. This role requires considerable travel and on-site participation at supplier and customer locations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

? Define and implement World-Class quality processes to support the New Product Introduction, including but not limited to :
o Design concept evaluation
o Product development and debugging
o Product quality and compliance test planning
o Quality validation and compliance testing
o Production process capability assessment
o NPI readiness quality gating
? Define and implement World-Class quality processes to support Supplier and Product Quality Management in Mass Production phase, including but not limited to :
o Process quality assessment / audit
o Product quality assessment / audit
o Supplier quality performance review and improvement drive
o Field / customer complaint resolving
o Change control monitor and approval
? Develop and uphold the product quality criteria and ensure Targus and supplier capability to meet or exceed this
? Define long term Quality Plans to develop suppliers in best practice, tools and processes so as to deliver World Class Quality Management Systems
? Approve all quality incident investigation, resolution and reporting
? Supervise the operations of the Quality Team and to develop their quality competency
? Provide regular quality reports for management review

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

? Detailed understanding of World Class Quality Management principles and their application within complex industrial environment.
? High degree of initiative, accountability and strong career-orientation.
? Strong leadership / Teaming / Interpersonal skills and possess desire to success
? Change management and control skills.
? General analytical and problem solving ability.
? Effective communication in English and Mandarin.
? Expertise in standard desktop applications, especially those used in the development of presentations, to include Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
? Must be able to prioritize multiple projects and responsibilities.
? Thorough understanding of financial impact of decisions.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

? Bachelor’s Degree; or 7-10 years related experience and/or training/ or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
? Solid work experience on mechanical design / quality / engineering discipline, preferably on tablet and phone case products.
? Quality Management in a Manufacturing/Engineered Product environment.
? Interfacing and collaborating with suppliers and customers
? Proven track record of quality improvements in industrial environments.
