Responsibilities:

- Manage the design, development and implementation of world-class manufacturing processes (major in equipment/automation) for new development projects with demanding geometric and cosmetic requirements
- Identify and research world-class equipment manufacturers and suppliers for a wide range of manufacturing processes& collaborate with the product development team on equipment selection, automation design and manufacturing feasibility
- Evaluate manufacturing requirements for new projects, influence supplier selection and qualify all primary and secondary/finishing process equipment
- Take a leading role in the design, development and qualification of automation
- Assist the product development team by defining best in class manufacturing processes for new projects& make recommendations based on known process capabilities
- Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for process improvement through the use of industrial engineering tools and automation technology
- Implement continuous process improvement measures from initial product design through to production ramp for new development projects
- Collaborate with our supply chain partners on maintaining appropriate controls on the processing parameters and define suitable automation/equipment preventative maintenance plans/schedules
- Troubleshoot process problems & develop and introduce solutions for long-term prevention

Experience:

1. Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or similar
2. 10+ years experience in a Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering or Process Engineering role, and minimum 5 years' hands-on experience in automation or equipment relating fields
3. Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, production equipment, PLC programming and electric circuit design, tooling & manufacturing jigs and fixture design, pneumatic/hydraulic component using
4. Demonstrated experience of SPC, NPI, DOE and process optimization
5. Proven track record in process design and process implementation for products with challenging tolerance and cosmetic requirements
6. Demonstrated DFM experience and proven track record of innovative processing solutions for high volume consumer electronic or soft goods products
7. Proficient in 3D CAD packages such as Pro E or Solidworks
8. Demonstrated problem solving skills and a proven record of supplier management
9. Familiar with industry leading test and inspection equipment
