Job Summary
Aids in the coordination of the global business unit’s planning functions in the various Jabil sites where the business unit manufactures product.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Ensures that the Master Production Schedule is loaded in alignment with customer contract(s) and liability agreements so that the materials team maintains conformance to Jabil’s “Rules of the Road.”
· Drives a systematic process to receive, evaluate and fulfill customer demand across the business unit.
· Ensures the execution and deployment of Jabil’s standard planning strategies and systems where possible, and implement customized solutions where necessary.
· Manages the overall demand plan and capacity analysis for the business unit.
· Balances capacity across manufacturing sites as required.
· Ensures that an achievable Master Schedule is in place to support both customer requirements and Jabil revenue projections. In developing a solid MPS, consideration must be given to materials availability, equipment capability/capacity and staffing.
· Develops and supervises solid product launch plans for new business, and transfer plans for products being moved between Jabil manufacturing sites.
· Evaluates the need for buffer inventory during the transfer process.
· Ensures continuity of product supply to the Jabil manufacturing site(s), and of finished goods to the customer throughout the transfer timeframe.
· Oversees the disposition and transfer of residual inventory to the appropriate “receiving” Jabil factory.
· Understands and participates in the development and deployment of materials strategies appropriate to the business unit, in concert with the Global Business Unit Materials Manager and the Business Unit Manager(s) / Director.
· Participates in Jabil’s monthly forecast cycle with BUM and Operations Management as required.
· Supports GBUMM and Business Unit Management in customer meetings, presentations and audits.
· Demonstrates a commitment to customer service.
· Anticipates, meets and/or exceeds customer expectations by solving problems quickly and effectively. Make customer issues a priority.
· Demonstrates effective leadership and cooperation with the materials team in the business unit and the functional management within the factories where the business unit operates.
· Serves as an escalation point for the customer and workcell materials employees, as required.
Education & Experience Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Materials Logistics Management, or related discipline.
· Three years related experience.
· Equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Solid understanding of electronics manufacturing and materials planning is required.
· Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil’s software packages.
