SUMMARY
Drive continuous improvement through the development and implementation of Global Quality processes, Product Capability Projects, Global Best Practice implementation, and deployment of quality tools and techniques. Provide exceptional support to customers, team members, and shareholders using both fundamental and progressive quality tools.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
? ? Drive continuous improvement through the implementation of quality engineering projects, global capability program and quality mentoring within Jabil’s manufacturing operations.
? Responsibilities will be divided into 4 primary project categories :
o Number 1: Deployment of Quality tools ( Ex. Root cause analysis, 3 Way 5 Why, Corrective and Preventive action, Lean 6 Sigma, etc.) on active manufacturing projects
o Number 2: Customer driven quality improvement projects
o Number 3: Global Product capability program
o Number 4: Global Best practice implementation generated by items 1 – 3 above
? Identify and implement new product capability improvement practices and processes that are “best in class.”
? Demonstrate a commitment to customer service; anticipate, meet, and exceed expectations by solving problems quickly and effectively; making customer issues a priority.
? Lead key customer quality improvement projects with Jabil Functional Teams
? Train manufacturing sites on both fundamental quality tools ( Root cause analysis, 3 Way 5 Why, 5 Ms, CAPA, FMEAs) and progressive tools ( tools within the Lean 6 Sigma family : MSA, DOEs, hypothesis testing, mistake proofing)
? Establish new measurement systems, including system to monitor global product capability (Cpk and Ppk) and Cost of Quality.
? Develop a platform to share within each Jabil facilities to ensure best practices are both shared and implemented throughout the Jabil organization within boundaries of confidentiality approved by customers.
? Ensure 100% adherence to all company policies and procedures (i.e. Health and Safety, Quality).
? Ensure all sensitive and confidential information is handled appropriately.
? Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.

FUNCTIONAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Strategy and Direction
? Know and understand the global strategic directions.
? Work with Global Quality Director to define the execution strategies that will meet the Global strategic direction at the operational level.
? Develop an understanding of the workcell business strategy as it pertains to Quality.
? Develop a forum and a platform for regular sharing and updates to Respective Jabil Site Quality teams, BUDs, BUMs, WCMs, and Operations Managers on the execution of the strategy.

Cost Management
? Identify creative ways to reduce cost by implementing a global product capability improvement program, streamlining processes and systems (i.e. modification of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks, elimination of non-value-added processes, or complete re-engineering of processes and systems).
? Establish and utilize tools to monitor global quality costs and cost trends, to drive for continuous reduction in cost of poor quality.
? Provide feedback to peers and senior management on quality cost and trends.
Forecast Development and Accuracy for Cost of Quality.
? Prepare timely forecasts for the department.
? Compare forward forecast results to historical actual results for trend assessment and analysis.
? Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
? May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
? Strong knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, Quality Management Tools, Quality Analytics Tools (DOE, Hypothesis Testing) and Business Process Re-engineering using DMADV methodologies.
? Proven track record of successful change management accomplishments, implementing and management continuous productivity and cost reduction programs.
? Strong and convincing communication skills.
? Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills required.
? Proven in developing Dashboards for sharing productivity projects and cost trend via Jabil Intranet.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
? Bachelor's Degree required.
? Bachelor’s degree in engineering
? Minimum of 15 years experience in manufacturing operations and quality environment, including at least 8 years in a supervisory role required.
? 6 Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt.
? Proven Lean implementation experience in an mechanical manufacturing environment
? Proven results leading quality engineering projects internationally, including Asia, Europe and North America
? Ability to read, analyze, interpret and communicate regarding common scientific and/or technical journals, financial reports, and
legal documents.
? Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
? Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
? Proficient PC skills to enable tailoring of advanced quality tools training to all levels of the organization.
? Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills required.
? Foreign language experience preferred especially Mandarin in both written and spoken
? Or a combination of education, experience and/or training.
