POSITION SUMMARY
Our Client is a world-wide company who specializes in automotive cables and wiring harness components.


POSITION DESCRIPTION

  • Developing, implementing and improving an effective HR strategy across 3 locations in China (Kunshan, Taicang, Mianyang (Sichuan))
  • Provide guidance to and serve heads of departments as well as workers.
  • Definition of HR rules (employee handbook etc)
  • Standardization of HR system (working hours, rules, etc)
    Planning, budget



POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • HR development
    • HR development needs analysis
    • Conception and implementation of HR development measurements
    • Controlling of the HR development success
  • HR planning
    • Evaluation and planning of future personnel requirements (career, succession, workforce, personnel cost planning)

    • Personnel requirement planning

  • HR communications
    • internal and external communication with employees, executive managers, authorities, consultants, universities etc
    • He/she is responsible for development and implementation of uniform strategies in consultation with the management. The main tasks relates to qualitatively HR measurements and HR development.
    • Confidential support for the HR systems & processes within company. Key responsibilities include delivering & coaching best practice HR systems and processes in line with the company framework.
    • Ensuring that the systems and procedures are in compliance with company internal and external audits, policies and procedures and relevant legislation.
    • Advocating, modifying (where appropriate) and delivering organizational development, leadership development, managerial development and team development training.
  • Functional Relationships:
    • The HR Manager is responsible for developing relationships with the relevant internal suppliers and internal customers (local & global) of the company.
  • External Relationships:
    • The HR Manager will have contact with external auditors, local authority representatives, legal, training, recruitment and other related providers.
  • Decision Making Authority:
    • The HR Manager will have recommending authority with regards to HR policies, procedures and systems, with final approval from the CEO.
    • Responsible for self-management of the position to achieve the objectives of this position description.
  • Human Resources Coaching
    • Under the guidance of the CEO lead the deployment of all aspects of organizational and learning and development including:
    • Leadership and team culture development (building and managing effective teams)
    • HR and L&D agency/consultant selection and management to support the strategic goals of the company
      Growth, recruitment, restructure and termination support to managers
    • Building and implementing robust strategies to coach team members to cope with the demands of their roles
  • Training
    • Assess, plan and implement training programme(s) for staff to support HR strategic objectives particularly in the areas of Management and Leadership development to support the Company's competence by:
    • Generating and distributing of professional and effective training materials/aids at all levels
    • Support development of management capability through facilitation of workshops, presentations and training sessions
    • Enhancing the company's induction programme including provision of training and support to managers and team members in delivery and upholding key core values
    • Development and Implementation of HR Systems & Processes
    • In conjunction with the HR team review, identify and implement HR systems and processes that add value to company by:
    • Contributing to the regular review and development of HR policies and procedures across the organization
    • Evaluating HR systems, processes and policies to ensure processes and policies continue to meet the changing needs of the business and external environment and assisting with the implementation of changes to the systems & procedures
  • Management of staff
    • Conduct performance appraisals & personal development sessions for the purposes of career development, succession planning, and salary reviews and poor performance issues
    • Responsible for performance management of reporting staff, accountable for the coordination of performance management across department.
    • Assist in the investigation of appropriate training programs.
    • Accountable for the recruitment and selection decisions.
    • Deal with discipline issues and conflict resolution.
    • Remain aware of competition wage and salary rates and training opportunities.
    • Maintain the overall well being of HR team members to pre-empt problematic issues.
    • Act as counsel and a mentor to HR team members.
  • Operational Support
    • Support the Health and Safety employee participation program
    • Provide support and assistance to the recruitment and selection process as appropriate
    • Proactively coach and advice managers in staff performance issues
    • Provide responsive, accurate and timely employee relations and human resource advice
    • Support managers, in conjunction with company legal advisors and the HR Team, to effectively manage employment relationship problems
    • Coach Managers to effectively manage the people aspects of business restructuring processes when required
    • Actively representing the HR Team by a positive and proactive presence in the business
    • Representation on Management Leadership Groups
    • Demonstrate full and positive participation as a member of the HR team at meetings and planning sessions
  • HR Manager Project Work
    • Undertake special projects for the CEO to assist and implement the improvement of best practice strategies, procedures and policies appropriate to the desired company culture and environment
      Health & Safety
    • Provides leadership and direction in matters relating to health and safety and shares accountability for managing health and safety within their areas of control
    • Any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as delegated by company management
  • Key Challenges:
    • Keeping up-to-date with best practice methods relevant to HR systems and procedures.
    • Ability to deal with continual change in a fast paced environment.
    • Ability to maintain professional customer focus in stressful situations.
    • Ability to deal with continual interruptions while achieving set work deadlines.



POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma in university study, business administration or equivalent
  • At least 8 years experience in a generalist and senior HR role, preferable in multinational environment
  • Experience with coordination of multiple locations preferred.
  • Excellent English language level required
