Summary of Position
The Footwear Material Analyst is responsible for the development, sourcing, testing and management of all footwear materials. Works with the rest of the boot team (Developers, Development Manager and BUD) to reach the boot team’s costing goals. The footwear
Analyst will analyze all footwear costing sheets utilizing footwear material usage software to maximize material usage and costing.
Job Duties: (other duties may be assigned):
-Main contact for all footwear material suppliers
-Source and develop new materials for all footwear projects.
-Analyze all footwear costing sheets included but not limited to pricing accuracy, material usage accuracy and specification accuracy.
-Main contact for all material testing. This to include the management of all footwear testing documentation.
-Main contact for material compliance with but not limited to CPSIA, Prop 65 and REACH.
-Manage and maintain footwear materials library. This to include the shipping material catalogs to Burton footwear developers and designers outside of China.
-Work with Developers to check all income material color and quality before used in real samples.
-Work with Developers to follow up with all material schedules.
-Work with Developers to check the pattern full size grading with technician at manufactures.
-Work with Developers to confirm the color swatch of all material that would be used for FLR samples, photo samples, sales samples and confirmation samples.
-Work with Developers to help transfer boots making and process to production from samples, ensure boots production beginning on time.
-Additional development projects as assigned by the Development Manager.
Requirement:
1. College education
2. 5 to 7 years of experience in shoes industry, of which 3-4 years directly involved in material costing and sourcing.
3. Experience using Footwear material costing software
4. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
5. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
6. Ability to work with Windows and MS Office software (Excel, Word, etc).
7. Ability to use the Photoshop, Illustrator program.
8. Physically individual must have no color blindness, no leather and adhesive allergy
9. Ability to read and interpret English specification, documents and procedure manuals.
10. Ability to read and write email and documents in English language.
11. Fluently speak English and can communicate with foreigner in English
