Responsibilities:
+ Prime technical contact for Blue Coat’s major parts & systems suppliers in the Asia Pac (APAC) region
+ Travelling to APAC suppliers may be needed when it is necessary
+ Will have ownership of all process, yield and quality metrics at the suppliers during production ramp through EOL
+ Will be a core member of the team that manages the relationship with the ODMs and the second tier suppliers
+ Conducting independent & thorough audits of the supplier's process capability
+ Setting up short and long term enhancement projects jointly with the suppliers based on company's priorities
+ Effectively manage and galvanize resources within ODM’s team to attend to critical Blue Coat product issues
+ Work closely with mfg. engineering, test engineering, business program management and doc control to collaboratively improve the delivered product quality and reliability
+ Enhance, implement, and maintain effective processes and procedures to ensure high product quality and reliability
+ Manage and report all major process yield metrics, identify trends and hold the supplier accountable to prior jointly set goals
+ Perform first articles and source inspections as required
+ Issue SCARs and drive RCCA
+ Manage all production optimization and cost reduction project with ODMs
+ Own the correct implementation of ECOs at the supplier’s site, from a technical review
+ Participate with quality and customer support teams to provide root cause analysis or technical background on customer escalations
+ Ensure that the Supplier’s own Supplier quality program is well staffed & effective at preventing problems
+ Key contributor in ongoing Supplier QBRs and recognition programs
+ Guide the team at the ODM, which includes but not limited to sustaining h/w engineers, product engineers and quality engineers, on system level analysis for failed units from the production floor or field returns
+ Engage with development h/w engineers on new products to understand key details and ensure preparedness at the ODM volume manufacturing site. Perform new product training as required
+ Work with Sustaining Test Engineer to develop requirements for production test infrastructure and processes at the ODMs and ensure sufficient capacity for production at the ODM sites

Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, ideally BSEE
+ 5 to 10 years’ experience as an SBE/SQE with experience directly managing Asian suppliers
+ Experience with sheet metal & plastic tooling and quality assessment of those commodities
+ Experience with understanding reliability & screening aspects of key commodities like power supplies, Hard Drives, Memories, etc.
+ Prior employment with a US based OEM is highly desired
+ In depth knowledge of PCA processes and chassis integration
+ Quality Systems expertise (process, yield & quality metrics)
+ System level failure analysis skills
+ Experience with Data Analysis and Pivot Table tools
+ Vendor Management skills
+ Ability to independently drive to closure production issues
+ Hi-mix, low volume, chassis based manufacturing experience in mainland China is desired
+ Independent and motivated self-starter, who has great contacts and who needs very limited supervision
+ Good interpersonal communication skills, strong technical skills, and good organizational skills
+ Chinese Mandarin fluency is required, along with excellent conversational and written English
