SUMMARY OVERVIEW
Work with regional operations, business units, and other functional units to facilitate compliance with all US and International regulations through training, implementation, monitoring and support of all compliance related activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
? Proactively review regional operations of the business and strive to reduce risk areas by managing Compliance program , which includes regular interaction with senior leadership and local management.
? Must communicate regularly with and obtain buy in from senior/regional leadership to ensure compliance with all laws, rules regulations a nd company policies, procedures and initiatives.
? Provide corporate visibility to operations and business unit compliance activities by providing regular detailed updates and assessments.
? Provide strategic recommendations to corporate regarding gap analysis, remedial action plans, policy review/implementation, internal control initiatives, etc.
? Collaborate with operations and all functional departments of the company (e.g., Operation, Environmental Health and Safety, Human Resources, Internal Audit, Trade and Customs, Tax/Finance, etc.) to ensure appropriate policies, trainings and internal controls are in place to support business and legal requirements.
? Maintain knowledge of relevant laws, rules and regulations and use this knowledge when advising the company, including updating/revising appropriate trainings, policies/procedures as required.
? Help to design, develop and deliver regional training programs for risk and compliance areas, including, but not limited to, Code of Ethics, Anti-Corruption, Conflict of Interest, Tendering, etc.
? Conduct high level audits of operations and business unit activities pertaining specifically to compliance matters. Collaborate with internal audit as necessary to ensure regular auditing and monitoring of compliance matters.
? Continually assess risk areas and develop effective methods to mitigate those risks and provide value add to the business through site visits and collaboration with senior, functional and operational leadership.
? Collaborate with local/regional Human Resource personnel regarding policies, training and education requirements and implementation of applicable action plans.
? Coordinate with Human Resources/Internal Audit regarding Ethics and Integrity Hotline and other investigation matters; drive completion of necessary remedial actions with relevant functional/operational groups.
? Ensure that all policies, trainings and internal controls are relevant, appropriate and provide value add to the business.
? Monitor and assist in management of compliance maters regarding expansion and divestiture activities (e.g., Mergers & Acquisitions, Joint Ventures, Greenfield projects, etc.) through focused due diligence review and analysis.
? Ensure all Sensitive and Confidential Information is handled appropriately.
? Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
? Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
? General interaction with senior management on a day to day basis.
? May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
? Flexibility and organizational ability to simultaneously manage various issues and projects in a high-performance environment.
? Ability to work in cross-functional teams.
? Strong judgment and strategic thinking skills.
? Proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels and work effectively in a team environment.
? Ability to work in culturally diversified groups.
? Proficient with PowerPoint, Excel, Word
? Proficient in English and Chinese
? Ability to build strong relationships in a business environment.
? Availability to travel at least 30%.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
?Law Degree (JD/LLB or equivalent) and related national professional legal qualifications strongly preferred.
? Minimum of 5 years experience in the Compliance field required.
? Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
? Experience within a global manufacturing organization is preferred.
