GENERAL SUMMARY:
The eCommerce assistant editor is an integral member of the Gap China eCommerce team, creating contents for www.gap.cn and other digital channels. This person will help to develop product and site content in Chinese, working with both internal and external partners to deliver product message to customers. The assistant editor reports to and works closely with the eCommerce Editorial Manager. As part of an eCommerce team in a start-up phase, this person must be a strategic, initiative-taking individual with great communication skills, who is passionate about the Internet and eCommerce.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Create, write dynamic editorial contents that clearly communicates product and marketing messages and also support merchandising objectives. Ensure that the story/product message reflects current trends in the marketplace and meets customers’ needs
? Translate, or adapt relevant content and products information from the U.S. Gap site to Chinese
? Maintain the different (digital) channels such as Gap App & Gap Tmall site so that can be aligned with Gap.cn
? Complete product titles and romance copy and color translation with outsourced copywriters’ help; Update the writing guideline and communicate with copywriters promptly.
? Act as assets owner for Gap China ecommerce--communicate with GID weekly to collect and provide assets to designers & agency
? Help to translate the China only products’ name into English, as we have Gap.cn English Language to choose on site
? Complete download measurement charts once a quarter, help to update the product size information
? Review & check products information carefully
? Help monitor & review product/marketing shooting
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
? B.A. in Journalism/Media/Literature or English, Creative Writing, or related field
? Top 10 of Chinese University a plus
? 1-2 years experience in creative or editorial fields
? Interest in fashion industry
? Great command of the Chinese language
? Bi-lingual: Chinese and English, both written and verbal
? Ability to adapt English nuances to the Chinese language
? Must have good sense of brand awareness
? Detail-oriented and organized, allocates time effectively
? With excellent communication ability
? Takes initiative, comfortable with ambiguous environments
? Well-versed in Microsoft Word, working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet programs
