CSDL Lab Based Services (LBS) combines both solution delivery and service delivery in one integrated offering. Our mission is to support software selling by working closely with SWG sellers and services organizations such as GBS, GTS, and business partners, and deliver project excellence to make our products stick.

Rational Lab Based Services Team is focused on providing customers value by consulting, education and support based on Rational methodology and products.

Rational LBS team is looking for experienced consultant/IT specialist. The role requires highly motivated and capable individual to work not only with cross-brands services team, but also with sales teams, support teams, development teams to deliver best services to GCG customers. The successful candidate must be able to work in a very fast paced environment, deal with multiple technical challenges and ultimately lead the consulting, designing, development and subsequent delivery of Rational services to help customer achieve success.

Major responsibilities include:
- Rational product install/configuration/tuning/trouble shooting for customer projects;
- Solution consulting, architecture, design, implementation, testing and delivery based on Rational products and methodology;
- Rational education delivery to customers and business partners;
- Rational product pre-sales support: PoC,PoT;

This position requires 50%-75% travel.
Job Requirements (skills/experiences)
5+ years experience in software development/delivery
In-depth knowledge and experience in software engineering principles and software development process, such as RUP, Agile, etc.
Admin skills and experience in at least 1 Rational product categories with no less than 2 products:
- RMC/Insight/RRDI/RAM/FocalPoint
- ClearCase/ClearQuest/RTC/BuildForge
- SA/Rapsody/RSA/RAD
- RRC/DOORS
- RQM/RFT/RPT/RIT(Greenhat)
Broad knowledge and experience on various platforms(Unix, Linux, zOS is a strong plus) and DBMS(DB2, Oracle)
Experience on other IBM products(WAS, DB2, Tivoli Directory Server) is a strong plus
Excellent interpersonal communication skills, written communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
A positive, can-do attitude, and self-motivated
Quick learner with strong sense of ownership
Experience of project management is a strong plus
Good client facing skills is a strong plus
Good English skills in writing, listening and speaking
