GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS


1. BASIC FUNCTION:

1） Ensure all packaging developments comply with MJN packaging standard and testing procedures. All packaging specifications including standard of packaging materials and approved printing standard/printing proofs are available on time. Drive cost saving of packaging materials while maintain quality within approved standard to meet MJGZ productivity targets and transforms new ideas from marketing concept to effective commercialized packaging. Develops & drives packaging vendors/ suppliers to improve quality, cost and lead time.
2） Process qualification: Responsible for the Qualification of raw material, new formulation of products, new production lines.


2. RELATIONSHIPS:

A. Job title of supervisor to whom the incumbent reports:

Manufacturing Services Manager


B. Position(s) receiving functional guidance from incumbent:

Production team, QA team
Marketing team, Purchasing team and
Regional PD & RA team


3. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

1. Communicates packaging, raw materials requirements both formally and informally within the function and cross functionally to achieve project and business goals.
2. Contributes to, and works effectively within the packaging function and manufacturing service function providing package and raw material information and technical guidance while seeking agreements regarding the implementation of reasoned solutions and initiatives.
3. Applied technical packaging and raw material or new products information from a wide variety of sources to solve difficult problems and contributes to solutions based on risk and benefit assessments.
4. Interface with Consumer & Customer Marketing, Supply Chain, and Internal partners in other markets, as well as with packaging and material suppliers and other external partners for solution research to a successful accomplishment of packaging project.
5. Identifies packaging and raw material development steps and identifies resources need for the completion of short and long term business objectives.
6. Applies fundamental packaging and raw material principles in recognizing potential issues and contributes to timely and cost effective solutions and directions.
7. Contributes to the incorporation of quality, regulatory, operational, customers and cost requirements thereby translating them into clearly defined functional packaging specifications.
8. Contributes to the effective commercialization of packaging and raw material or products from concept to customers and consumers.
9. Recognizes the importance of adherence to GMP, HACCP, ISO, FDA and local regulatory requirements.
10. Recognizes the important of employee safety in the workplace including compliance with legal, corporate safety, and environmental guidelines.

4. SCOPE:

Ensure on time availability of all packaging specifications including approved printing standard and ensure quality of packaging materials of MJGZ products supply in China, and export market.


5. REQUIREMENTS:

A. Educational Background
University graduate or Master degree in Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Food science, Packaging Engineering and Packaging Technology are preferred.

B. .Experience required
Experiences Desired
? Performed portions of phases within the packaging and material qualification and development process, encompassing search, early development, advance development, launch and commercialization.
? Familiar with preparing packing documentation, specification, regulatory requirements and protocol development.
? More than 8 years’ experiences in packaging and material developing and qualification, at Least five years experiences in food industry.
? Two years’ experience on leading projects cooperated with Regional or Global teams in a Multi-national Company.
? Identified creative, innovative concepts and technologies.
? Prepared and presented packaging and material information to a broad audience.
? Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within a team environment;

Knowledge Desired
? Comprehensive knowledge for flexible and rigid material;
? Understanding of packaging testing and material or products systems (procedures, protocols, and testing equipment) with the knowledge to modify to specific needs.
? Understanding of packaging and process equipment , packaging materials, raw materials and component interaction.
? High passion in package development , material and products qualification and problem solving & following;
? Knowledge of package regulatory frameworks.
? Understanding of Supply Chain module: Plan, Source, Manufacture and Distribution processes/systems
? Good communication skill and project/time management;
? Good English skill both in writing and speaking;

6. LATITUDE:

A. Follows MJN Quality Standard, Specification and Standard of Operating Procedures. Comply with MJN internal control standard, GMP, HACCP, ISO and EHS.

? Release/reject incoming packaging and provide technical support upon request.
? Develop improvement program for daily packaging materials efficiency & waste.
? Initiate to improve packaging performance & testing with suppliers.
? Set up standard of packaging specification and its tolerance.

C. Daily supervision by Manufacturing Services Manager.


7. SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT

The safety and environmental requirements of this position are to:
? Maintain a safe work environment.
? Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where and when required.
? Maintain high housekeeping standards both in and outside working place.
? Report all accidents to direct manager.
? Comply with all Company Policies associated with GMP, HACCP, ISO9000 and EHS.
