Key Responsibilities:
- Leads benchmark activity to continue to maintain best in class and industry.
- Develops and tracks operational metrics/objectives with feedback and action plans designed to any address gaps.
- Lead and access the development of ongoing multiple-year business and people strategies, including objectives to achieve and implement the strategy, and communicating these plans.
- Ensure that the operating processes are in compliance to established policies and operating procedures. Enforce process discipline, process audits and rigorous change control.
- Partner with other global center leaders to share process best practices and align process standardization where appropriate across streams.
- Proactively and regularly monitors and identifies budget and forecast variances for the Coring Shared Services division (and potential implications) and provides division leadership (i.e., GM and staff) with insights and perspectives on appropriate actions required to address variances.
- Develops an annual timeline to support Green Book and Black Book activities, making sure appropriate work is assigned to all respective groups and rolled up and consolidated activities are fed back into Black Book and Green Book.
- Develop and implement specific processes that deliver SARBOX compliance e.g. keep controls documented, employees trained, self-audit program working – build quality into operating procedures.
- Develop corrective actions for all External audits.
- Actively engage with customers to get input from the business to better understand what’s going on in the business and how the Corning Shared Services organization can contribute by: capturing customer feedback (VOC), testing and validating feedback and looking for opportunities to improve the current services or develop additional services to address customers’ needs.
- Provides leadership for requests of changes to standard processes, enterprise wide systems and modification upgrades.
- Develops and maintains a group that delivers 24x7 coverage to ensure system availability.
- Marketing the value of Corning Shared Services to the function globally, not only as a service provider but as an important step in career advancement.
- Identifies and provides development opportunities for staff to increase skill level across Corning Shared Services team.
- Leads regular performance reviews with staff to ensure the appropriate deployment of talent required to meet current and future division Finance needs.
- Implements performance management and rewards processes/practices within the Corning Shared Services group to drive required levels of employee accountability for desired performance results and ensure retention of top performers.
- Assists in identifying and implementing a compelling employee value proposition that enables the Corning Shared Services group to attract and retain the number and type of talent required to close talent gaps.
- Be one of the active and visible leaders of the finance function, participating on the Finance Advisory Committee (FAC).
- Promotes a positive reputation and image of Corning in the local community.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Desired Education: MBA
Work Experience: 10 yrs Shared Services or other process-intensive experience
