POSITION INFORMATION
Position Title:Technical Services Engineer
Function:Research and Development
Location:Pediatric Nutrition Technology (Guangzhou) Ltd. (PNT, China)
report to:Director Technical Services and System
Function Management Committee member:VP R&D – Asia/C & B/Local Package (China Comp & Ben)

Packaging and Systems Manager/Product Development Managers/R&D Technical Centers in Thailand, Philippines/Supply Chain Engineers/QA and QC Laboratory Staff/QA Compliance Manager/External Warehouse Manager/Supervisor/ Warehouse Manager/Supervisor
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1)Manages operation of different units of R&D pilot plant and labs, stability rooms and warehouse as directed by regional R&D group.
2)Manages a team of pilot plant technicians/assistants staff involved in the production of prototypes, evaluation of raw materials and prototypes, engineering activities related to the scale up of R&D product formulations and packages, global systems implementation, materials inventory and control at different stages of the R&D innovation process.
3)Develops and implements programs and systems of GMP, GLP, HACCP, EHS, Pest control, safety, pilot plant operation, SOPs, warehouse and inventory control and management, housekeeping.
4)Develops and implements programs for the storage and inventory management of R&D product samples in external warehouse.
5)Develops and implements preventive, repair and maintenance, calibration programs for pilot plant and related labs, utility rooms, equipments and instruments. Provide input to the contracts with third party suppliers for the preventive maintenance of said facilities, equipments and instruments, as needed.
6)Lead in the preparation and conduct of lab and pilot trial runs and studies and ensure samples are submitted to designated laboratories as directed by regional R&D group.
7)Lead in housekeeping and GMP of pilot labs and pilot plant.
8)Perform specific activities for local process engineering R&D plant trials and product qualification activities with product development, product maintenance, sensory, process or package engineering as directed and approved by regional R&D group.
9)Prepare documentation for proposal, implementation and/or qualification of capital projects, as may be directed from regional R&D group. Perform basic project management as may be directed from regional R&D group.
10)Provide input to budget and expense projection for operation of pilot plant and related labs and its ancilliary.
11)Responsible in maintaining technical documentation related to above activities.
REQUIREMENTS
Educational Attainment Requirement
?B.S. in Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Food Technology/Food Science, or any other Food or Engineering related course.
Professional background
?At least 3 years experience in food/pharmaceutical/beverage manufacturing industry in R&D, QA or production functions.
?Preferably with at least 2 year experience in R&D pilot plant operations operating key process technologies and conducting evaluation studies.
?Experience in operation of R&D or small scale food processing equipment such as spray drying, liquid process, CIP skids.
?Experience in handling multiple projects at one time.
?Experience working in the Dairy Industry is an advantage.
?At least 1 year experience in supervising or training technicians.

?Demonstrate working knowledge in the operation of R&D equipment such as small scale spray drying, liquid process, blending, packaging equipment and CIP skid equipment
?Understanding of engineering utilities supporting various processing equipment.
