Responsibilities

1. Negotiating, reviewing and drafting of documentation relating to physical commodities transactions (including general terms and conditions of sale, margining agreements and warehouse agreements) executed onshore in the PRC or cross-border into the PRC;

2. Responsible for advising on all issues arising from the GCG derivatives business in the LIB;

3. Advising GCG senior management on PRC laws (including SASAC, SAIC, CBRC, CSRC, PBOC and SAFE regulations) as they apply to the GCG business onshore (including the WFOE);

4. Providing legal analysis in relation to new business initiatives of GCG in the PRC and managing legal risks arising from such initiatives;

5. Participating in industry initiatives in the PRC as the representative of ***;

6. Working on all matters relating to the LIB's membership of the Shanghai Gold Exchange or trading on the SHFE, Dalian Exchange and any other exchanges in the PRC.

Requirements

1. PRC law qualified with at least 5 to 7 years legal experience (optimally, experience as in-house counsel in the commodities trading house, financial services industry or as a lawyer in a top tier law firm).

2. Fluent in verbal & written Mandarin & English.

3. Experience with the physical commodity business, international trade and SAFE regulations will be a plus.

4. Ability to identify and escalate issues timely and appropriately and manage multiple complex projects and transactions simultaneously.

5. Ability to adapt and apply legal skills in new types of commodity transactions.

6. Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, organizational, business judgment and strategic thinking skills.

7. Ability to communicate across cultures, management styles, and at multiple organization levels to legal and non-legal professionals.

8. Comfortable working independently.

9. Excellent drafting, negotiation and legal analytical skills.

10. Good team player.
